SMACKDOWN #000
8-1-02
Rey Mysterio defeated Tajiri
SmackDown! kicked off with a high-flying bout between Rey
Meysterio and Tajiri. The Japanese Buzzsaw took it to the
newcomer early, but Mysterio nailed the 619 to get some
momentum. Tajiri's shoulders were pinned to the mat shortly
after a top rope huracanrana from Mysterio!
Kurt Angle came out and addressed the crowd, saying he was
sorry that he scared everyone last week when it appeared that
he was jumping to RAW. Angle said if he were no longer on
SmackDown!, there'd be no reason to watch. Angle stated that
he was a bit upset last week after the actions of Brock Lesnar.
Angle reminded the NCAA Champion that the Olympic Hero was
winning gold medals back when Lesnar was playing Hungry Hungry
Hippos! Angle called out Lesnar, but it was Hollywood Hulk
Hogan that strutted out beneath the TitanTron! Hogan said he
wanted a piece of Lesnar first as the Next Big Thing had
interfered in Hogan's match last week too. Angle said he
wasn't leaving and told Hogan to come to the ring and do
something about it! Hogan went to the ring, but Stephanie
McMahon came out and stopped them. Stephanie said that Angle
and Hogan would square off in a match later on with the winner
facing Brock Lesnar next week!
Brock Lesnar defeated Mark Henry
In this battle between two of WWE's largest superstars, Lesnar
showed amazing strength in suplexing Henry and hitting the F-5
to get the pinfall! Paul Heyman smiled and escorted the Next
Big Thing out of the ring. Backstage, Lesnar confronted Hogan
and said he really wanted to face the Hulkster next week.
Later, though, Lesnar bumped into Angle and wished him luck too!
Hollywood Hulk Hogan defeated Kurt Angle
During an intense battle, the referee got knocked down which
allowed a frustrated Angle to bring a steel chair into the
ring. Hogan kicked the chair out of Angle's hands and tried to
get the pin, but the ref could not count. Hogan went to the
ref's aid, but Brock Lesnar came down and got into a shouting
match with Hogan. Angle used the distraction to smack Hogan
with the chair, but did so just as the referee picked his head
up! The ref called for the disqualification, meaning the
Hulkster will meet Lesnar next week on SmackDown! After the
match, Angle vented his frustration on Hogan and Lesnar
whirled the Hulkster into the F-5!
Rikishi defeated Reverend D-Von
After dropping Deacon Batista with a kick to the face, the
Phat Man splashed down with the Rump Shaker and got the pin on
Reverend D-Von! Rikishi tried to follow after the match with a
Stink Face, but Batista stopped him cold with a clothesline
and spinebuster, and D-Von added a flying head butt for good measure.
Jamie Noble came out and targeted the announce team. Noble
accused Michael Cole of eyeballing Nidia, so he prompted his
girlfriend to give Cole a good time. Nidia went over and gave
Cole a lap dance punctuated by a deep kiss with plenty of
tongue.
John Cena defeated Rico
The stylist missed a moonsault whch allowed Cena to hit the
tilt-a-whirl slam and get the pinfall! Cena continued
attacking Rico, but was picked off by Billy and Chuck! Chuck
held Cena on his shoulders while Billy climbed the top rope
and launched a flying bulldog onto the rookie.
Eric Bischoff, who had been kicked out of the backstage area
by Stephanie McMahon earlier, purchased a ticket and paid off
a fan in the front row for his seat! Stephanie came down and
had a message for the RAW GM. She said that the main event of
the night wouldn't be The Rock vs. Edge. It would be The Rock
teaming with Edge against newly-acquired: RAW talent -- Eddie
Guerrero and Intercontinental Champion Chris Benoit! A
ticked-off Bischoff stormed to the ring but was kicked out by security!
Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero defeated Edge and The Rock
In perhaps the most intense battle of the evening, The Rock
knocked down Eddie Guerrero with a Rock Bottom and set his
sights on Chris Benoit. Suddenly, the Great One spied Brock
Lesnar emerging from beneath the TitanTron with a steel chair!
The Rabid Wolverine pounced on The Rock and slapped on the
Crippler Crossface, forcing the Undisputed Champion to tap
out! Lesnar smiled in approval and watched The Rock writhe in
pain from ringside. As Lesnar backed up the ramp, Hogan jumped
out and clocked Lesnar with a steel chair.

John Cena def. Kurt Angle via disqualification
Cena reversed out of an ankle lock and powerslammed Angle,
then followed with a vicious dropkick that sent Angle
spiraling out of the ring and onto the steel steps. It looked
like Angle would be counted out, but suddenly, Chris Benoit
raced into the ring and put Cena in the Crossface! Rey
Mysterio dashed down and aided the rookie, but Mysterio was
blindsided by Eddie Guerrero! Edge came down to even the odds,
then watched as Angle, Benoit and Guerrero back up the ramp!
Mark Henry def. Reverend D-Von
With Batista watching from ringside, D-Von absorbed a kick
from Henry followed by a powerslam. The World's Strongest Man
rolled over and got the pinfall on D-Von but was ambushed by
Batista. Batista held Henry down while D-Von climbed to the
top rope. Rikishi raced in and shoved D-Von down then
challenged Batista to a match!
Rikishi def. Batista
Batista overpowered Rikishi with a full-nelson slam. Rikishi
fought back with a DDT but took a shot to the kidney from
D-Von. D-Von swung at Rikishi again but nailed Batista by
mistake! Rikishi finished Batista off with a kick and got the
pinfall! Afterward, D-Von apologized profusely while Batista
gave him an icy stare.
Brock Lesnar barged into Hollywood Hulk Hogan's locker room to
see if the Hulkster really wanted to go through with their
match. Hogan said that Lesnar should put his shot at the WWE
Undisputed Championship at SummerSlam on the line in their
match again. Brock agreed and backed out of the room laughing.
Paul Heyman screamed at Brock for giving the stipulation to
Hogan. Brock screamed at Heyman for losing confidence in him.
Suddenly, cameras picked up Torrie Wilson and Nidia scuffling
backstage. Billy Kidman and Jamie Noble rushed in with several
officials to separate the two!
The Hurricane & Shannon Moore def. Billy & Chuck
The Hurricane teamed with new WWE Superstar Shannon Moore
against Billy & Chuck. With Rico advising from ringside,
Moore took down Chuck with a hurracanrana but was knocked down
to size by a clothesline from Billy. Later, Moore tagged in
again and displayed several incredible aerial moves. Moore got
caught in a dangerous position but he managed to dodge the
Code Red and rolled Chuck up in a flash to get a surprise
pinfall!

Edge, John Cena & Rey Mysterio def. Kurt Angle,
Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero
Angle was once again in control of Cena when disaster struck.
Angle had just hit Cena with the Angle Slam, but Mysterio
raced in and clocked Angle with the 619! Mysterio clobbered
Angle with the West Coast Hop and pinned the furious Olympic
Hero!
Jamie Noble & Nidia def. Billy Kidman and Torrie Wilson
Kidman tossed Noble out of the ring and slung Nidia over his
knee to spank her! Noble managed to recover and raced in to
bail out his girlfriend. Kidman caught Nidia again and this
time tagged in Torrie who got the honors of spanking Nidia!
Nidia got revenge shortly after by catching Torrie with a
schoolboy to get the win. After, Nidia celebrated by jamming
her tongue down her boyfriend's throat!
Backstage, Stacy Keibler convinced Dawn Marie to give her some
important legal papers that were destined for SmackDown!
general manager Stephanie McMahon. But later, Stacy was shown
giving the papers to Eric Bischoff! The RAW GM looked over the
papers with a devilish smile.
Brock Lesnar def. Hollywood Hulk Hogan
Brock nailed Hogan with a powerbomb, but the six-time WWE
Champion Hulked up and waved a finger in Brock's face. Hogan
dropped Brock with a boot to the face, but Brock avoided the
leg drop and maneuvered for the F-5! Hogan worked out of the
finisher and connected on another boot and a leg drop! Brock
kicked out but took a third boot to the face! Heyman grabbed
Hogan to prevent the leg drop, but the distraction set Hogan
up for the F-5. Lesnar decided not to go for the pinfall and
instead squeezed Hogan's ribs with tremendous force. Hogan
lost consciousness and the referee called for the bell. Lesnar
refused to let go of Hogan and continued to squeeze the life
out of the Hulkster. Finally, Heyman convinced Brock to let go
and held the Next Big Thing's hand up in victory.
The two went to leave, but Brock stopped and returned to
attack Hogan viciously with a steel chair! Even Heyman tried
to get Brock to stop the assault, but the monster leveled
another shot to Hogan's skull. Heyman tried to drag Brock
away, but the Next Big Thing again returned to the ring and
shouted in the Hulkster's face. Brock raised his arms in
triumph with Hogan's blood running down his chest as SmackDown!
left the air!

Kurt Angle def. Mark Henry
The World's Strongest Man countered out of the ankle lock, but
Angle latched on the lock a second time and forced Henry to
tap out! Mysterio raced in and cut Angle's celebration short
by hitting the Olympic hero with a 619 that cut Angle's
forehead!
Brock Lesnar def. Rikishi
Rikishi propped Brock in the corner for a Stink Face, but
Heyman ran in and broke things up. Rikishi slumped Heyman in
the corner and had to pick who to give the Stink Face. He
chose Heyman, but first dropped Brock with a kick when the
Next Big Thing snuck up behind him. Heyman got the Stink Face,
but Brock recovered and hit the F-5 to get the win!
Funaki interviewed Nidia backstage. Nidia didn't answer
Funaki's question about her match with Torrie Wilson, instead
going on about how hot she is. She tempted Funaki to touch her
breast, but they were interrupted when Reverend D-Von stumbled
in after being knocked down by Batista! Batista ordered D-Von
to have some respect before storming away!
Nidia def. Torrie Wilson
Torrie took down Nidia with a DDT, but Jamie Noble slipped
into the ring to level Torrie with a clothesline. Nidia got
the pin, and the TitanTron suddenly exploded with images of
Kane! The monster didn't appear, however. Tazz commented that
he heard Kane would be coming to SmackDown!
Chavo Guerrero and Eddie Guerrero talked to their grandmother
on a cell phone backstage. They told her to make sure their
entire family was watching on TV as they teamed up against
Edge and Rey Mysterio!
Edge and Rey Mysterio def. Eddie Guerrero and Chavo
Guerrero by disqualification
Mysterio cracked Chavo with the 619, but Kurt Angle ran to
ringside and put Mysterio in the ankle lock! Eddie attacked
Edge but was speared into the ring barrier. Back in the ring,
Angle held Mysterio in the ankle lock while Chavo kicked him
in the head. Edge ran to the rescue, taking both Chavo and
Angle down with the spear!
Backstage, The Rock told Brock Lesnar in several languages to
Just Bring It! As The Rock finished speaking and walked away,
Brock Lesnar walked into view with a sadistic smile.
The Rock def. Chris Benoit
The Rock hit Benoit with a Rock Bottom and set up for the
People's Elbow, but the Great One spotted Brock Lesnar coming
down the ramp and immediately went to confront him. The
SummerSlam opponents nearly came to blows, but Benoit
blindsided The Rock and proceeded to put him in the Crossface
back in the ring! Rock refused to tap and managed to reach the
rope to break the hold! With Lesnar watching from just several
feet away, Rock executed the Rock Bottom on Benoit and got the
pinfall! The Rock told Lesnar to Just Bring It, but the Next
Big Thing smiled and backed up the ramp as SmackDown! closed.

Only three days till SummerSlam!
With just three days remaining until his title shot at
SummerSlam, Brock Lesnar opened SmackDown! in Fayetteville,
N.C., by walking to the ring with his agent, Paul Heyman.
Heyman stated that Brock killed Hulk Hogan's career and the
Next Big Thing would do the same thing to The Rock at
SummerSlam. But Heyman said that Brock wanted The Rock to have
a taste of SummerSlam, so he promised that the two would
collide on SmackDown!
Brock took the microphone and said that he felt the same way
that he felt on the night he fought Hulk Hogan. As Lesnar
promised to make The Rock cry like a little bitch, the
People's Champion strutted out onto the stage! The Rock said
that despite all the talk, Brock had yet to back it up. The
Great One stated that since Brock refuses to bring it to The
Rock, The Rock would bring it to him! The Rock took off his
sunglasses and started down the ramp. But he was assaulted
from behind by Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit! The Rabid
Wolverine latched on the Crossface while Heyman and Lesnar
laughed in the ring!
Moments later, Benoit and Guerrero launched another savage
attack on Edge as he arrived at the arena!

Tajiri
Shannon Moore slithered out of Jamie Noble's powerbomb attempt
and got the pinfall on a quick rollup! All four men continued
to battle in the ring. Just as Hurricane and Moore disposed of
their opponents, Matt Hardy came to the ring to add support
and even celebrated as if he had muscled out Noble and Tajiri.
Staphanie McMahon berated Benoit and Guerrero backstage,
saying that the two had put SummerSlam in jeopardy with their
attacks on The Rock and Edge. Stephanie said that if The Rock
couldn't compete on Sunday, the two would receive a dramatic
cut in pay. Stephanie said she had no problem if the men
unleashed their fury in a competitve match. She said she would
protect her SummerSlam! main event. As she continued, Edge
rushed in and chased Benoit and Guerrero away with a steel
chair! Edge demanded that Stephanie make a tag team match for
the evening featuring him and The Rock against the Wolverine
and Latino Heat! Stephanie agreed.
Matt Hardy bragged to The Hurricane and Shannon Moore about
the reaction he got from the crowd, saying it wasn't just
because he's from the area. He said that if he went back into
the arena right there, he'd get twice the reaction. Matt went
down the entrance ramp and indeed got a loud cheer. But it was
cut short when Chavo Guerrero came out and said they'd see
what kind of reaction he got when they got through in the
ring!
Chavo Guerrero def. Matt Hardy
Matt was ready to hit the Twist of Fate, but Kane's fiery
entrance theme hit the TitanTron. While Matt stared at the
screen, Chavo rolled him up and got the 1-2-3!
Backstage, Funaki said he would be going inside a place no man
had ever been before: the women's locker room! True to his
word, Funaki walked in and found Nidia changing! Molly Holly
walked in to view and ordered him to leave because he could
have seen her changing. Nidia said she didn't have a problem
and told Funaki to stay. Molly said that Nidia is loose. Nidia
said she's just open. She also promised to show everyone in
the arena what they wanted to see that night when she beat
Molly in the ring.
Kurt Angle told Rey Mysterio that he requested a match against
Billy Kidman that night so his SummerSlam opponent could see
what is in store for him on Sunday. Angle promised to break
Mysterio's ankle if he got involved in the match.

Billy Kidman def. Kurt Angle via countout
The referee was knocked to the mat, allowing Rey Mysterio to
rush in and deliver a missile dropkick to Angle! Mysterio
dashed away with Angle in hot pursuit. The ref had no choice
but to count Angle out, but the Olympic hero did return to the
ring to take out his frustration on Kidman.
The Rock told Edge that sore ribs were nothing and that
nothing could keep him from taking on Brock at SummerSlam.
Rikishi & John Cena def. Reverend D-Von & Batista
D-Von and Batista got into a shouting match in the middle of
the ring which ended with Batista nailing his partner with a
spinebuster! Rikishi dragged D-Von to the corner for a Rump
Shaker and got the easy pin!
Backstage, Jamie Noble convinced Nidia to take off her top to
give a security guard a sneak preview of what everyone else
would see once she defeated Women's Champion Molly Holly!
Molly Holly def. Nidia
After kicking away Jamie Noble, the Women's Champion hit the
Molly-Go-Round and got the pin! Noble rushed to his
girlfriend's aid and said despite the loss, she should still
give the people what they want to see! Nidia began to strip
off her top, but Molly rushed in and knocked Noble into his
girlfriend to prevent any indecency.
Edge & The Rock def. Chris Benoit & Eddie Guerrero
The Great One nailed Benoit with a Rock Bottom which allowed
Edge to take Guerrero to the mat with a spear and get the pin!
Brock Lesnar suddenly appeared in the ring and faced his
SummerSlam opponent, who motioned for Edge to leave the ring.
The Rock told Brock to "Just Bring It" and the two
began slugging away on each other! The Rock knocked the Next
Big Thing over the top rope and Paul Heyman convinced his
young star to wait until Sunday to get even! The red-faced
Lesnar promised to do just that at SummerSlam as SmackDown!

Stephanie names her own No. 1 contender
As the show kicked off from the Mohegan Sun Arena, a very satisfied SmackDown! General Manager Stephanie McMahon sauntering down to the ring. Stephanie immediately declared SmackDown! the exclusive home of the WWE Undisputed World Champion, Brock Lesnar. In defiance of RAW GM Eric Bischoff's No. 1 contender match on Monday, she announced a one-night single-elimination series to determine her own No. 1 contender to Lesnar's title.
Eddie Guerrero defeated Edge in a Series Match
The first match of the contender's series turned out to be a rematch from SummerSlam. Guerrero took control early, but Edge quickly turned the tide with a series of face plants. Edge attempted the pinfall, but Guerrero kicked out at two. Wisely, Guerrero targeted Edge's injured shoulder. Looking to avoid losing two in a row to Edge, Eddie continued to work on Edge's arm, until Edge tossed him over the top rope. He then proceeded to follow Latino Heat to the outside, crashing down on him from the top
turnbuckle. Once they were back inside, Edge wowed the casino crowd by kicking out of pin attempt following a brutal superplex. He nailed Guerrero with a powerbomb, but was unable to follow through, having sustained so much punishment himself. With both out on the mat, the referee began a 10-count, but Edge gained his second wind, taking the fight to Guerrero with new resolve. Seizing the opportunity, Edge launched a perfect missile dropkick into his opponent, causing Guerrero to skulk to the outside and grab two steel chairs out of desperation. With referee Jimmy Korderas' back turned, Guerrero nailed his adversary with the chair, and then hit the frog splash for the pin to advance in the series.
Matt Hardy ran into Stephanie backstage and inquired about where his spot in the series would be. She then informed him, and the crowd, that Guerrero's next opponent that night would be Rikishi.
Reverend D-Von def. John Cena in a Series Match
With Batista no longer at his side, the Reverend tore right into the rookie Cena. Taking it in stride, Cena fought back with a series of high-energy maneuvers. The battle went back and forth until D-Von took the decisive lead with a suplex and elbow drop, followed by a commanding powerslam. Going for the fall early, D-Von made several pin attempts before continuing to bring the pain. Cena used a modified neckbreaker to shift the momentum, following it up with a series of flying forearms and a pin attempt of his own. An elbow to the chin returned the advantage to the good Reverend. After applying an inverted DDT, D-Von pinned Cena.
But that wasn't all, as the disgruntled Batista stormed the ring and assaulted his former colleague D-Von, driving him into the mat with a devastating sit-down powerbomb. As the Reverend lay gasping for breath on the canvas, the monstrous Batista stood over him triumphantly, flaunting his power for all to see.
Rey Mysterio def. Rico
Mysterio began by using his speed to sidestep Rico's early attempts to take control. He used Rico's own momentum to send him flying him from the ring, and then took to the air, executing a tope over the ropes and onto Billy & Chuck. This led referee Mike Sparks to banish the tag team from ringside altogether. Taking advantage of the distraction, Rico tried to take over, but a classic flying leg scissors from Rey put him back in his place. Finally, Rico turned the tide with a powerslam and a series of rolling suplexes. He got a two-count, but there was more fight left in the masked cruiserweight. Another powerslam later, it looked like Rico had it all sewn up, but he began bragging to the crowd, giving Mysterio enough time to capitalize. The pace began to quicken with Mysterio's unorthodox offense. Before long, Mysterio was able to hit the combination of the 619 and his amazing finisher, the West Coast Pop, to score the pin.
Backstage, Hardcore Holly was trying convince Stephanie to put him in the No. 1 contender series. But Stephanie blew off Holly, retiring to her office to take an "important phone call". On the phone, she seemed to be reassuring an unnamed SmackDown! Superstar on the other line, when Matt Hardy barged in once again to inquire about his position in the series. In frustration, Matt hung up the phone on Steph, enraging her enough for her to sign an impromptu non-title match between him and
Lesnar.

Stephanie names her own No. 1 contender
Rikishi was interviewed by Marc Lloyd, and stated his intention to get some revenge for the F-5 he recently suffered at Brock's hands. In the midst of his tirade, he was interrupted by his series opponent Guerrero, who was pissed off at being overlooked.
Rikishi def. Eddie Guerrero in a Series Match
In his second tourney match of the night, Eddie attempted to continue on with a win over the Phat Man. Rikishi used his massive girth to take over early, but the wise veteran Guerrero then went straight to Rikishi's left knee, grounding the Superstar. Guerrero used a toehold to keep Rikishi on the mat. Backed up into a corner, Rikishi got some help when referee Mike Chioda called for the break. But before long, Eddie went right back to work on the knee. After missing a charge into the corner, Guerrero became the recipient of some brutal offense from Rikishi, who began whipping him from one side of the ring to the other. One superkick later, and all Guerrero's work was rendered pointless, as Rikishi landed the pinfall to move on in the series.
It was then that Chris Benoit stormed the ring to aid his ally Guerrero in putting a serious beatdown on the victorious Rikishi. Trapped in the Crippler Crossface, Rikishi was helpless until Edge came down to even the odds and run off Guerrero and Benoit.
Backstage, Stephanie got in the face of Benoit over the fact that Benoit lost the Intercontinental Title to RAW Superstar Rob Van Dam at SummerSlam. Looking to give Benoit a chance to vent his frustration and make up for his loss, she booked him in the next series match that night with Rikishi.
Shannon Moore def. Tajiri
This exciting battle of cruiserweights was witnessed by the Cruiserweight Champion himself, Jamie Noble, who was at ringside along with his main squeeze Nidia. This was Moore's singles debut in WWE, and he appeared motivated to make the most of it, going hot and heavy against the Japanese spitfire Tajiri. But Tajiri would have none of it, grounding Moore with a snap mare and a punishing reverse chinlock. A jarring Tajiri superkick looked like it would put Moore out for good, but Tajiri couldn't log the pin. A modified cobra clutch took even more of the fight out of Moore. It might have been all over at that point, but Moore was able to put his foot on the rope during a pinning attempt. Moore then fought back with some chops and an elbow off the ropes, going for his own pin attempt following a neckbbreaker. Tajiri landed a German suplex out of nowhere, but still couldn't put Shannon away. It was then that Noble interjected himself into the match to thwart Moore, but Hurricane took him out of the action. Moore then used a roll-up to pin the stunned Tajiri.
Chris Benoit def. Rikishi in a Series Match
The odds looked long for Rikishi, whose knee was smarting from the earlier damage incurred at the hands of Guerrero. Trying to gain the win early, he landed a Samoan Drop on Benoit, but only hurt his knee further. Referee Korderas asked Rikishi if he wanted to continue, and he responded in the affirmative, only to have his determination question even further by another Crippler Crossface. The Phat Man reached the ropes for the break, but the tenacious Benoit only reapplied the hold in center ring, giving Rikishi no choice but to tap out.
In an interview, Kurt Angle gloated over his SummerSlam victory over Rey Mysterio. He then announced that he would be Chris Benoit's opponent in the next and final match of the No. 1 contender series.
Conducting his own interview, Funaki tracked down Paul Heyman and asked for comments from Brock Lesnar. Heyman was less than accomodating, persuading Funaki said that maybe it wasn't such a good idea. Matt Hardy then hit the scene again, taking advantage of the mic time to proclaim his own greatness, much to Heyman's dismay.
Brock Lesnar def. Matt Hardy
Matt hadn't exactly scored any points with Heyman thanks to his earlier antics. Brock made it a point to make him pay for his hubris, taking him to the outside before the bell even rang. Lesnar then dragged him back inside, relentlessly pounding him with ruthless aggression. It was his first match since winning the WWE Undisputed Championship, and Brock was out to assert his dominance. Lesnar used his power to employ a series of crushing throws and slams, only to get sent through the ropes by Hardy when he turned his back on him. Once Brock returned between the ropes, Matt tried to capitalize with a Twist of Fate, but it was no use. The gargantuan champ escaped the moved and nailed the F-5 to win the match. At the behest of Heyman, Lesnar returned to ring after the win to deliver more pain to Hardy in the form of two unbelievable powerbombs.
In her office, Stephanie received an important contract from Dawn Marie that led her to change the final series match into the Triple Threat Match. The reason, according to her, was that she had just signed away one of Eric Bischoff's RAW Superstars.
The Undertaker def. Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle in a Triple Threat Series Match
Stephanie introduced the defecting Undertaker from the top of the ramp, and he emerged from the curtains in all his glory. But as soon as the bell sounded, both Benoit and Angle jumped 'Taker together. Undertaker fought back, splashing both men on either side of the ring. Missing a high kick, 'Taker caught himself on the top rope, allowing Angle and Benoit to take over once more. Weakening the American Badass with a double suplex, they continued the strategy of putting 'Taker in a Handicap Match, until Angle finally went after Benoit's ankle. The two grapplers fought over a series of reversed rolling German suplexes, and for a split-second, Angle almost slapped on his
ankle lock. Benoit went for a cover, only to have it broken up by 'Taker. The Badass targeted Benoit, punishing him in the corner and going for the Last Ride. Angle then ran in and clipped the 'Taker's knee, taking him down to the mat. Kurt anf Chris brought chairs into the ring, and Benoit landed his on 'Taker's head. Neither Benoit or Angle could follow through however, because they each broke up the others' pin attempts. Benoit tried his German suplex on 'Taker, but 'Taker escaped and chokeslammed Benoit. 'Taker then found himself in Angle's ankle lock and the Crippler Crossface simultaneously , but refused to quit. Frustrated, Angle went after Benoit, applying another ankle lock. 'Taker then rejoined the mix, and received an Angle Slam for his troubles. But after sending Angle out of the ring, 'Taker finally scored the win when he caught Benoit in the Last Ride for the pin, attaining No. 1 contender
status!

Billy & Chuck become more than friends
Rey Mysterio pinned Billy
After defeating Rico the previous week, Mysterio opened up
the show by taking his chances against Rico's associate Billy.
The 10-time former Tag Team Champion wasted no time, jumping
Mysterio before the opening bell. He viciously choked the
cruiserweight in the corner until referee Brian Hebner broke
it up. Yet, the punishment continued, as Billy continued to
pour it on for the first two minutes of the match, until Rey
escaped a suplex and dropkicked Billy in the knees. But Billy
took control again with a commanding clothesline. A
neckbreaker sent Mysterio reeling, but he fought back from his
knees, landing punches to Billy's midsection before scoring
with a flying headscissors and a springboard dropkick. Rey's
619 maneuver was blocked from the outside by Billy's partner,
Chuck, which allowed Billy to take over once again. He pounded
Mysterio in the corner, but got a little too cocky, as the
Masked One reversed a Billy backdrop into a roll-up for the
pin at 5:05.
Following the match, Rico entered the ring to console
Billy. He announced that next week would be the single
greatest moment of Billy's life, and then invited Chuck into
the ring. "Chuck has something he wants to ask you,"
said Rico. Chuck then reached into his trunks and pulled out a
ring, whereupon he shocked the Green Bay crowd by getting down
on one knee and asking Billy to be his "partner for
life!" Billy responded in the affirmative, leading to a
group hug.
Jamie Noble (with Nidia) pinned Shannon Moore to retain the
Cruiserweight Championship
Thanks to his recent pinning of Noble in a tag team match,
Moore earned his shot at the Cruiserweight Title. Noble looked
in no mood to drop his coveted gold, exchanging right hands
with Moore from the start. Moore hit a perfect spin kick, then
covered Noble early for two. The champ then found himself
dropkicked right out of the ring, where Moore pounced on him
and hurled him back between the ropes. Another two-count, and
Noble started coming back with a clothesline and side suplex,
followed by a two-count of his own. Working on his opponent's
back, Noble rammed Moore into the corner and executed a
backbreaker and modified surfboard. But Moore refused to
submit and escaped the hold. That didn't stop Noble, who went
right back to work on the back. But a heel-kick finally put
Noble on his own back. The momentum turned in Moore's favor,
and he came within an eyelash of pinning the champ. A top rope
maneuver came closer than ever to putting Noble away. Noble
finally made his comeback by landing a desperation powerbomb
followed by a tigerbomb to put his challenger down for the
three-count at 6:01.
Backstage, Paul Heyman was preparing WWE World Champion
Brock Lesnar for his upcoming match with Randy Orton, when
Orton himself butted in and got in Brock's face. Since they
entered the business together back in Ohio Valley
Wrestling, Orton claimed to know how to deal with Lesnar in
the ring.
Also in the backstage area, Edge, Rey Mysterio and Rikishi
were enjoying a game of dominoes. Edge asked Rikishi if he was
ready for their upcoming six-man tag team match teaming with
Undertaker against Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero and Chris
Benoit.
WWE World Champion Brock Lesnar pinned Randy Orton in a
non-title match
The third-generation World Wrestling Entertainment
Superstar charged Lesnar to begin, but the champ just absorbed
the blows. He proceeded to toss Orton around the ring like a
rag doll. With ease, he tossed Orton over the corner ringpost
and on to the floor. Showing no respect to the son of Cowboy
Bob Orton, Brock hurled him back in the ring to continue the
beatdown. Orton miraculously kicked out of a pin following a
clothesline that almost beheaded him. Whipping him from corner
to corner, Lesnar drove his shoulder into Orton's gut. Unable
to get out of the corner, Orton took more and more punishment
from the titleholder. Hoisting him on his shoulder, Lesnar
repeatedly drove Orton's back into the turnbuckles. Orton
tried to fight back, but a clubbing blow to the back of the
head put Orton down on his face. With desperation, Orton
lashed out at Brock with dropkicks, and launched himself on to
the champ from the top, but Lesnar simply caught him. One
dominating F5 later, and Randy Orton was pinned by the
rampaging Brock Lesnar at 5:27.
Meanwhile, Mark Henry congratulated Chuck and Billy on
their engagement backstage.
In Stephanie McMahon's office, the SmackDown! GM met with
her newest acquisition, Crash, and wished him good luck in his
upcoming match with The Hurricane. After Crash left, Reverend
D-Von barged into the office to express his disapproval of
Chuck & Billy's engagement. Stephanie lashed out at D-Von
for his closed-minded ways and insisted that he watch the
wedding, which would be taking place in the ring next week.
She also booked an impromptu match for D-Von against his
former associate Batista.
Mark Henry pinned Tajiri
A unique contrast of styles unfolded as the World's
Strongest Man clashed with the Japanese Buzzsaw. Tajiri tried
to go for Henry's left leg, but was met with a series of knee
lifts. Henry then tossed Tajiri into the ropes, and came
crashing down on him from behind. Tajiri attempted a flying
elbow and a series of chops, to no effect. Henry responded
with a shot to the back of Tajiri's head. Tajiri finally
succeeded in connecting with Henry's legs using some vicious
kicks, putting Henry on the mat. But Henry blocked Tajiri's
next kick, and even the tarantula did nothing. Henry came back
strong, scoring a powerslam to put Tajiri away at 3:24.
What followed was a face-to-face sit-down meeting between
Brock Lesnar and the No. 1 SmackDown! contender, the
Undertaker. Stephanie McMahon was the moderator as the two
Superstars sat across from each other. The two are slated to
meet in the ring on Sept. 22 at Unforgiven. Brock got the
first words in, touting his impressive amateur career, as well
as his incredibly short run to the WWE World Championship. But
Taker seemed unfazed. In fact, he almost laughed at Brock,
accusing him of overconfidence and inexperience. He declared
that he would test Brock for the first time at Unforgiven.
Heyman proceeded to ridicule Taker, pointing out that he might
be a little distracted by his wife Sara, who is expecting.
Heyman goaded the Undertaker on the subject until the Badass
could take no more and put Heyman on his ass. It seemed like
Taker and Brock would go at it right then and there, but
Heyman held his client back.

Batista pinned Reverend D-Von
D-Von didn't even wait for Batista to enter the ring,
planting kicks into him as he passed though the ropes. But it
didn't last long before Batista sent D-Von fleeing from the
ring. On the outside, D-Von tried to equalize things by taking
down his former prot‰g‰ with a steel chair. Back in the
ring, he went for a cover, but to no avail. Using cheap shots
to keep Batista grounded, it was only a matter of time before
D-Von lost the advantage. Power moves were the order of the
day as the mighty Batista punished the Reverend. A devastating
powerbomb from Batista cut the match abruptly short at 2:32.
In the backstage area, Jamie Noble and Nidia were getting
ready to leave. Nidia seemed taken by Chuck and Billy's
engagement, and asked Jamie if they would ever get
married. Although Noble said they would, he seemed to only be
patronizing her.
In the locker room, Eddie Guerrero and Kurt Angle were
getting ready for the upcoming six-man tag team match. Upset
about losing his shot at the WWE title last week due to
Rikishi, Guerrero was looking forward to getting some revenge.
But Angle seemed upset at Guerrero's partner Benoit for
ruining his own chances last week. There seemed to be some
dissension between Angle and Guerrero, and as Angle was
badmouthing Benoit, none other than the Rabid Wolverine
emerged on the scene. Before long, Guerrero had to pull his
two tag team partners apart.
Once again backstage, Matt Hardy and Shannon Moore were
watching Matt's match last week with Brock Lesnar. Hardy
seemed very impressed with himself and his performance, and
instructed Shannon to watch him wrestle Hardcore Holly tonight
if he wanted to learn to be a great Superstar. That's when
Hardcore Holly showed up to make Matt eat some of his words.
Hardcore Holly pinned Matt Hardy
Matt took down Holly immediately for a two-count. Circling
each other, the two locked up collar-and-elbow. Holly scored
with a backslide, but couldn't hold Matt down. The match
degenerated into blows, with Holly coming out on the short
end. But a whip into the corner ring post changed all that,
and Hardy was sent to the outside. Following him, Holly
planted some chops in his opponent's chest before bringing him
back inside for a two-count. Lifting Matt to the top
turnbuckle, Holly went for a superplex, but was sent crashing
down to the mat. Hardy followed up with a moonsault, but
Hardcore kicked out of the ensuing pin. Even after hitting the
Side Effect, Matt couldn't hold him down for three. Hardcore
came back strong with a powerbomb, but Matt turned the
momentum back after hitting Holly with a boot to the face in
the corner. Hardcore Holly's impressive dropkick put Matt
down, and the two struggled mightily on the mat. They
exchanged a series of roll-ups before Holly used a handful of
tights to hold Hardy down for the three-count at exactly 5:00.
Crash pinned The Hurricane
The cruiserweight division was front and center with this
one. Looking to start climbing the ranks in the division after
defecting from RAW, Crash was out to prove something. The two
Superstars circled each other before exchanging blows in the
corner. Hurricane took control, suplexing Crash and landing a
high cross-body from the top. Crash fought out of a side
headlock and landed his own side suplex. He then put the boots
to his masked opponent. Softening up Hurricane's back, Crash
planted a series of knees to the spine. Hurricane blocked a
suplex, and went back on the offensive. A flying elbow hurt
Crash, as did a snap neckbreaker from the second turnbuckle.
But even a dropkick to the head wasn't enough. Hurricane
seemed to be running out of steam as he took Crash to the top
turnbuckle. He scored with a neckbreaker from the top, which
took almost as much out of him as it did out of Crash. Referee
Mike Sparks laid a count on both men, which reached eight
before Hurricane made it to his feet. Hurricane went for his
chokeslam finisher, but Crash grabbed a leg and rolled
Hurricane up for the surprise pin at 4:40. After the match,
Hurricane helped his victorious opponent to his feet in a rare
show of sportsmanship.
Next, a promotional video package was aired, chronicling
Rikishi's difficult life on the streets, particularly his
recovery from being shot and nearly killed.
Undertaker, Edge & Rikishi defeated Kurt Angle, Eddie
Guerrero & Chris Benoit
The titanic main event was next. Angle and Undertaker
started it off, with the Taker wrenching Angle's left arm with
authority. He took Angle down with a big boot/legdrop
combination, and went for the chokeslam--which Angle promptly
escaped, tagging out to Benoit. The Crippler took charge in
the corner with kicks and chops, but the Dead Man reversed the
situation and tagged in Rikishi. The 'Kish delivered a
spinebuster on Benoit, followed by a Samoan drop. Edge came in
next for his team, and Benoit brought in Guerrero to oppose
him. It was all Edge at this point. When Angle tried to
interfere, he was met by the Taker on the outside. With the
ref distracted, Guerrero and Benoit double-teamed Edge, giving
Latino Heat the advantage. Angle tagged in, continuing the
beating on Edge. The tags continued for the controlling team,
as Benoit and then Guerrero took turns punishing Edge. They
seemed to have successfully cut off the ring, tagging in and
out at will against the struggling Canadian. After a sapping
reverse chinlock and belly-to-belly suplex from Angle, Edge
seemed to have nothing left, but he hit the Edge-ecution on
the former Olympian, allowing him to finally make the tag to
the Undertaker. The Phenom proceeded to clean house on all
three opponents. He was about to chokeslam the legal Benoit
when Guerrero hit him with a low blow from behind. Angle and
Rikishi came in next, leading to a Stinkface for Kurt courtesy
of the Phat Man. Benoit came in for the save, but got a good
laugh at Angle's predicament. The two teammates then went at
each other, leading to total disarray outside the ring.
Guerrero was left all alone in the ring against all three men
on the opposing team. They took full advantage of their
situation as referee Jimmy Korderas tried in vain to restore
order. Eddie was a sitting duck, and the Taker put him out of
his misery with the Last Ride at 11:06 to win the match for
his team.

'Three minutes' of horror for Stephanie
Stephanie McMahon endured "three minutes" of horror as the hotly anticipated commitment ceremony between Billy & Chuck went terribly awry for the for the former Tag Team Champions.
The ceremony, which received widespread media attention from such outlets as the New York Times, Variety, and Good Morning America, was supposed to have established a union between Billy & Chuck as life partners. But just before a justice of the peace was set to complete the ceremony, a nervous Billy & Chuck stopped him in his tracks. Billy & Chuck revealed that the whole thing was a charade thought up by Rico as a publicity stunt and demanded to know why Rico didn't put a halt to the ceremony as planned.
As Rico berated Billy & Chuck for not having the guts to go through with the stunt, the elderly justice of the peace stated that the bond between the tag team was sacred, whether it lasted for months or just three minutes! Stephanie's eyes widened in shock as the justice of the peace stripped off his rubber mask and revealed his true identity as RAW General Manager Eric Bischoff! Before Stephanie could flee, Rosie & Jamal swept into the ring to dispose of Billy & Chuck and nail the SmackDown! GM with a Samoan Drop! The SmackDown! locker room emptied as a dozen superstars raced down to chase the RAW invaders from the building!
The Undertaker had an equally difficult night as Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman attacked the Dead Man both physically and psychologically. Last week on SmackDown!, Heyman insinuated that Taker's wife, Sara, could become a distraction on the Dead Man's quest to take the WWE Championship from Brock Lesnar.
Heyman made sure that Taker's concentration was broken during the Phenom's match against Matt Hardy. Heyman cornered Sara in a backstage locker room and made threatening advances on her. Taker, seeing the action on the TitanTron, forgot all about his match and raced to the back where he pounced on Heyman. Before any damage could be inflicted, Brock Lesnar, who started the evening off by pinning Hardcore Holly, stomped in and clobbered Taker with a steel chair! The WWE Champion loomed over a quivering Sara in a menacing fashion before leaving the room!
Kurt Angle tried to use intimidation to his advantage before facing Rey Mysterio. Angle took to the ring and told his undersized opponent that he is a little boy playing in a man's world. "And I'm a man who loves to play with boys," Angle said. When he realized what he had said, Angle tried several times to give a better explanation but failed miserable with each attempt and caused the Minneapolis crowd to roar with laughter and, "You suck" chants! Angle got the last laugh, though, as he defeated Mysterio via pinfall following a top rope Angle slam!
Angle later attacked Chris Benoit and held the Wolverine in position for a Rikishi Stinkface! An irate Benoit demanded - and received - a match against Angle at Unforgiven on Sept. 22!

Undertaker Calls out Lesnar; Steph to Bischoff: "I might like HLA!"
A furious Undertaker took the fight to Brock Lesnar and matters heated up big-time between Eric Bischoff and Stephanie McMahon on an unbelievable edition of SmackDown! from Colorado Springs, Colorado!
With his pregnant wife Sara recently released from the hospital after going through false labor, a furious Undertaker was out for revenge against the man who put his hands on her last week, the WWE Champion Brock Lesnar. Eager to protect his man, Paul Heyman hired an entire security detail to protect the champion backstage from any Undertaker sneak attacks.
Following Brock's easy win in a non-title match over John Cena, Heyman was on the lookout for the 'Taker, who had just arrived at the arena. But Lesnar's pride overcame him, and when Undertaker called him out to the ring, Brock obliged. When the ensuing brawl got too heated, a distraction from Matt Hardy (who jumped 'Taker from behind) allowed Lesnar to make a hasty retreat, flanked by his security guards. Frustrated, Undertaker knew he'd have to wait until Sunday to take out his aggression against Lesnar at Unforgiven.
In a live debate via sattelite feed, Raw General Manager Eric Bischoff taunted SmackDown! General Manager Stephanie McMahon over the stipulations for Unforgiven's upcoming matchup of Billy & Chuck vs. Jamal & Rosie which state that if Billy & Chuck lose, Stephanie will have to engage in "hot lesbian action". To the amazement of Bischoff and the live crowd, Stephanie declared that should Billy & Chuck be defeated, she might actually enjoy a little HLA!
Earlier in the night, Billy & Chuck had declared to Stephanie and the fans that they weren't sure whether they would remain a tag team or go their separate ways following their match at Unforgiven. Only time will tell on that one.
In other action, Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit--who will oppose each other at Unforgiven--were forced to team up against Billy & Chuck after Angle ridiculed the duo's publicity stunt that took place last week. Miscommunication between Angle & Benoit caused them to lose the match, leading to an impromptu battle of submission holds after the bell. The conflict of Anklelock vs. Crippler Crossface will be settled this Sunday.
Eddie Guerrero enjoyed a little payback from Edge following the tag team match they were both involved in. After Eddie & Chavo beat Edge & Rikishi due to some highly questionable tactics, Edge went after Chavo, only to be blindsided by a chair-wielding Eddie. As Edge gushed blood from his wounded head, Eddie gloated over him in triumph, confident that the result would be the same when the two meet at Unforgiven.

The fallout from Unforgiven resulted in one of the bloodiest and most unforgettable episodes of SmackDown! in recent
memory! Add to that the amazing efforts put forth by some of WWE's best and brightest, and you have an absolute must-see
show.
Frustrated by his inability to get the job done against Undertaker last Sunday night, the WWE Champion blindsided the Dead
Man and left him laying in the ring. Undertaker had just soundly defeated Matt Hardy when Lesnar rushed the ring and Pearl
Harbored the Phenom with the WWE Championship belt repeatedly. Undertaker's face was a proverbial crimson mask as he
stumbled to the backstage area to be tended to by on-hand medics.
Lesnar's rage was a recurring theme for the night. Earlier, he took out his aggression on poor Funaki, who thought he'd be
getting the scoop on why Brock is rumored to be denying Undertaker a rematch. Instead, Funaki was utterly brutalized in
the ring by the hulking champion.
The main event saw any fan's ultimate dream match become a reality, as Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit and Rey Mysterio did
battle in an incredible Triple Threat match that was made earlier in the night by SmackDown! General Manager Stephanie
McMahon. Dazzling his hometown fans, Mysterio certainly didn't disappoint, scoring the upset pin on Benoit to win the
match.
Edge and Eddie Guerrero met in an Unforgiven rematch that will be remembered for years to come. This time, there was no
disqualification, and both men took full advantage. Two ladders were brought into the ring and played an integral part in
the match. In fact, after a nearly 20-minute struggle, Edge performed his Edge-cution from the top of the ladder to cover
Guerrero for the 1-2-3.
Torrie Wilson and Nidia helped heat things up with a red-hot bikini contest. Tazz was the lucky master of ceremonies,
while Billy & Chuck sat ringside to judge the affair. Nidia put on a rather unorthodox show, gyrating awkwardly and
getting a 15 out of 20 (6 and 9, respectively) for her efforts. But once Torrie disrobed, it was all over but the
shouting. Billy & Chuck both gave her perfect 10s.
Incensed that his main squeeze came up short, Cruiserweight Champion Jamie Noble emerged from the back to challenge Billy
& Chuck to an impromptu match against himself and his ally Tajiri. The former Tag Team Champions seemed more than up for
it, and emerged victorious over Noble & Tajiri.

Stephanie opens a Tag Team Championship Tournament!
Stephanie McMahon promised to issue a surprising announcement,
and the SmackDown! General Manager delivered as the show
kicked off from Lafayette, LA! Stephanie said that a
tournament would decide which pair of superstars would become
the new WWE Tag Team Champions. The champions, who would be
exclusive to SmackDown!, would be crowned after winning the
title match later this month at No Mercy!
Stephanie also announced later in the show that Brock Lesnar
and the Undertaker would meet at No Mercy in a WWE
Championship Match! But she made sure that this showdown would
be a memorable one. The Next Big Thing will have to defend the
title against Dead Man Inc. in a Hell in the Cell Match!
The Tag Team Championship Tournament kicked off with Eddie and
Chavo Guerrero defeating Mark Henry and Rikishi. Chavo cracked
a steel chair on Henry's leg while the referee issued warnings
to Eddie. Eddie then got the pinfall to make sure the
Guerrero's would advance in their quest to take gold at No
Mercy.
Billy & Chuck didn't fare so well. Faarooq and Reverend
D-Von picked up a huge win in their first match as a tag team
to move into the next round.
An incredible match between Edge and Kurt Angle led to the
most surprising development of the night regarding the
tournament. The referee found himself knocked out of
commission, causing another official to run down and take
control. However, the original referee came to just in time to
see an apparent pinfall from Edge. From the replacement
referee's position, though, it looked as though Angle had
scored the win. The referees argued until it was decided that
the match would continue! During the extra added time, Angle
grabbed a steel chair but was distracted by Chris Benoit from
the outside of the ring. Angle swung the steel seat, only to
watch it rebound off the top rope and smack into his face!
There would be no doubt who won this time as Angle stumbled
right into a vicious spear and was pinned by Edge!
The Olympic Hero went ballistic and assaulted the Crippler in
the locker room. After several other Superstars stepped
between the men, Stephanie McMahon revealed that Angle and
Benoit would be teaming up next week to take part in the Tag
Team Championship Tournament! It became clear later in the
show that the Angle/Benoit alliance will definitely be a
troubled one. Kurt Angle showed up at ringside for the
evening's final match and helped Rey Mysterio pin Benoit for
the second straight week!
Matt Hardy scored a huge upset win over the Undertaker in a
falls count anywhere match. Thanks to an F-5 from Brock Lesnar
that sent Taker crashing onto a wood palette backstage, Matt
got the pinfall while the WWE Champion and Brock Lesnar
smirked mockingly. After the match, Undertaker was taken to a
local hospital where he was treated for a broken hand. Matt
gloated over his win, saying that perhaps he should face Brock
at No Mercy in a championship match. Heyman and Lesnar rolled
their eyes and sarcastically agreed.
In other action, Jamie Noble upheld his Cruiserweight
Championship by avoiding Crash Holly's finisher and using the
ropes for leverage on a rollup.
Dawn Marie fell short in her attempt to overthrow Torrie
Wilson in a Bikini Contest. Dawn got the last strike in,
though, as she smacked Torrie and threw the Diva from the
ring!

Dead Man Cheating?
Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman found an unorthodox but very effective way to distract the Undertaker leading up to their WWE Championship Match at No Mercy. During this intense episode of SmackDown!, the
Undertaker found himself battling not just the WWE Champion
and his manager, but accusations that attacked his personal
life as well!
Heyman and Lesnar escorted a hot young woman to the arena, causing speculation to swirl about her identity. Heyman tipped his hand early in the night as he explained that the woman - Tracy - would show just what kind of man the Undertaker really is.
Later in the evening, Tracy found herself in the ring staring face to face with Dead Man Inc. She erupted into a fury and accused Taker of lying to her and sleeping with her for three months. She had no idea that Taker was married and his wife is pregnant. Tracy apologized to Sara, saying she hated that the news had to be broken that way.
Taker stared in disbelief and growled that he had never even seen Tracy before, much less had an affair with her. But all that earned him was a slap to the face from his alleged mistress. Tracy stormed out of the ring and up the ramp past the gloating Lesnar and Heyman!
Later, the Undertaker attempted to convince Sara over the phone that he was innocent. But it became obvious that his wife wasn't buying his alibi. Sara also got a call from Lesnar during SmackDown! The champion told Sara in a mockingly insincere tone that he was concerned for her state of mind.
The Undertaker would vent his frustrations on Brock Lesnar at the end of the evening. He assaulted the WWE Champion after the main event tag team match, using the cast on his broken hand as a weapon!
In other action, Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit advanced in the WWE Tag Team Championship Tournament. The reluctant teammates defeated John Cena and Billy Kidman after Kidman tapped to the Cripple Crossface. Eddie and Chavo Guerrero - who seem to be Angle and Benoit's rivals in the tournament - used their future opponents' hatred for each other against them. Chavo claimed to Benoit that Angle had attacked him without warning. When Benoit ran to investigate, he was tossed into a dark room with Chavo holding the door shut. A loud commotion emanated from within until Eddie Guerrero stepped out with a dented steel chair in his hand and a smile on his face!

Edge/Mysterio, Angle/Benoit advance to No Mercy; Taker: 'I Lied'
A night of uncontrollable action saw the finals of the WWE Tag Team tournament determined, and the war between Undertaker and Brock Lesnar escalate to white-hot levels! This week's SmackDown! from Toronto's Air Canada Centre set the stage for this Sunday's must-see pay-per-view experience, No Mercy.
In a shocking revelation, Undertaker admitted that he lied about not knowing Tracy, the woman who claimed last week to be having an affair with the Deadman. 'Taker stated that he knew Tracy, but insisted that it was years before he and his wife Sara even met. Tracy begged to differ, and let SmackDown! General Manager Stephanie McMahon know it, swearing that she and Undertaker had been together as recently as ten days earlier!
Tracy was accompanied by WWE Champion Brock Lesnar and his agent Paul Heyman, who had their own axe to grind. Lesnar and Heyman demanded that Stephanie prohibit Taker from wearing his cast during his upcoming Hell in the Cell match with Lesnar at No Mercy. Intent on exacting vengeance upon Lesnar and Heyman-who broke 'Taker's hand in the first place-the American Bad Ass unleashed an unspeakable fury, bloodying both the champion and his agent with the cast. Despite that, Stephanie affirmed that 'Taker would be permitted to wear the cast into the Cell on Sunday.
In the semifinals of the tournament to crown the first holders of the new WWE Tag Team Championship, two teams earned the right to compete for the gold this Sunday at No Mercy. The hot young duo of Edge & Rey Mysterio were victorious over D-Von & Ron Simmons (formerly Faarooq), and in the second semi match, Kurt Angle & Chris Benoit got past Eddie & Chavo Guerrero. The friction between Angle & Benoit seemed to be building, as Eddie tried to convince the Crippler that it was Angle who jumped him last week. But Benoit knew that it was in fact Guerrero, and let him know it by laying him and his nephew out with a steel chair in the middle of the ring! Edge & Mysterio will face the Guerreros in the finals of the tournament this Sunday.
Torrie Wilson certainly wished her father Al hadn't started to attend her matches live! She warned her dad about the ruthless and seductive Dawn Marie, but to no avail. Following the mixed tag team match in which Dawn Marie & Matt Hardy beat Torrie Wilson & Rikishi, Torrie began to suspect something was up. Searching the backstage area for her father, she finally found him in the one place she'd never want to find him: in the shower with Dawn Marie! The heartbroken look on Torrie's face said it all, and there's no doubt she'll be looking for some payback from Dawn Marie when they lock up at No Mercy.
In other action, John Cena showed a new side of himself when he blamed Billy Kidman for their tag team loss last week on SmackDown!. Cena and Kidman met one-on-one this week, and Cena managed to pull out a win-though not without a little help from the ropes. Nidia and Cruiserweight Champion Jamie Noble-the First Couple of the trailer park-were up to their usual games, this time clashing in the ring in WWE's first-ever boyfriend vs. girlfriend match! After beating the tar out of each other, the uncouth couple made nice, embracing in the ring and swapping spit for all the world to see.
Match results
In the first semi-final match of the WWE Tag Team Championship tournament, Edge & Rey Mysterio defeated D-Von & Ron Simmons when Edge pinned D-Von after the Edge-ecution at 4 minutes and 38 seconds.

The Big Show makes an impact on SmackDown!
The Big Show made an immediate impact on SmackDown!, sending a strong message to Dead Man Inc. and the WWE Champion!
The largest man in WWE made his presence felt by blindsiding Rikishi and chokeslamming the Phat Man in the center of the ring! Big Show then announced that he was there to make an impact, and said that there was nobody on SmackDown! who could stand up to him. He issued a challenge to Brock Lesnar and called the WWE Champion a coward! Later, Big Show savagely attacked the Undertaker and tossed him like a dishrag off the stage! Taker, still trying to regroup from Hell in a Cell, was down for several minutes before being helped to the back. As for the champion, Brock Lesnar accepted Big Show's challenge! Find out more about this incredible match-up next week on SmackDown!
Stephanie McMahon tried to reward Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle for putting their differences aside and capturing the WWE Tag Team Championship. But things went wrong when Angle and Benoit ame to the ring to collect their gigantic, elaborate trophy. The two engaged in a tug-of-war for the trophy, which caused it to break and sent Angle smashing into Stephanie! The dazed SmackDown! General Manager staggered to her feet and smacked both men across the face! As punishment, Stephanie ordered the two to face each other later in the evening. That match proved to be a wild, back and forth affair that saw the Rabid Wolverine get the pinfall after some help from the Guerreros!
Eddie and Chavo were still fuming about their loss earlier in the evening in a No. 1 Contenders Match for the WWE Tag Team championship. Rey Mysterio hit the West Coast Pop on Chavo and Edge got the pinfall. Will Edge and Rey get to wrap their hands around the titles that slipped from their grasp at No Mercy? Tune in next week!
In other action from SmackDown!, Dawn Marie broke things off with Torrie's father and Jamie Noble showed off his acting skills by giving Memphis his impression of Elvis before retaining the Cruiserweight Championship against Tajiri.

The rivalry gets even hotter!
Leave it to Halloween night to produce one of the craziest episodes of SmackDown! ever. Some old favorites popped up at the backstage costume party and two bitter rivals set aside their differences for a brief, passionate moment.
Stephanie McMahon, decked out for the night as a witch, was summoned to her office where she was expecting to meet her father, Vince McMahon. But upon her arrival, she was greeted by a man wearing a mask that bore the WWE Chairman's likeness. The masked man said that Scott Steiner would be coming to RAW, and with that, he whipped off the costume and revealed himself as Eric Bischoff! Stephanie attempted to smack the RAW General Manager, but he blocked the strike and grabbed her in for a deep kiss! Stephanie struggled in a frenzy to break away, but suddenly relaxed and pulled Bischoff in closer! The two finally broke apart and awkwardly stared at each other in obvious confusion about what had just happened.
There was definitely no love lost between Brock Lesnar and the Big Show. Big Show's massive size and his aggressiveness as of late caused Paul Heyman to openly question the WWE Champion's ability to overcome the giant. Those doubts gathered more credibility during the night's main event, featuring Lesnar against Rey Mysterio. Big Show -- who earlier in the night had defeated Rikishi -- interrupted the match and forced a no contest. After tossing Mysterio into the crowd, Big Show slammed Lesnar through the announce table as if the champion were a toy!
Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit toyed with each other all night. Despite holding the WWE Tag Team Championship together, it's clear that these two skilled mat technicians just cannot get along. Thanks to Angle's interference, the Rabid Wolverine lost a singles match to Edge at the beginning of the night. When a furious Benoit went in search of Angle at the costume party, he came up empty. The Olympic Hero had cleverly concealed his identity by dressing up as the ghost-faced killer from "Scream."
Benoit earned revenge later by clocking Angle with the Tag Team Championship to allow Eddie Guerrero to chalk up a win in over the gold medalist. Angle stomped off to get his hands on Benoit at the costume party. Upon spotting someone wearing the same costume Angle sported earlier, he whipped off the mask and came face to face with ŕ Brother Love! Benoit suddenly attacked the surprised Angle and the two threw each other around the room with reckless abandon until they simultaneously knocked each other out!
The Fabulous Moolah and Mae Young made the costume party unforgettable for Tajiri. Mae, dressed as Marilyn Monroe, took a liking to the charismatic Superstar and even planted a surprise kiss on Tajiri, who she called her boyfriend! Things didn't get much better for Tajiri, who lost to Matt Hardy, version 1, after a Twist of Fate. But Torrie Wilson and Dawn Marie stole the show by splashing around in a pool of chocolate during a Trick or Treat Match that saw the blond Diva pick up the win. Even ring announcer Tony Chimel was pulled into the wild fray and went for a swim in all the chocolatey goodness!

Edge & Mysterio Take the Tag Titles; Big Show Serves Notice to Lesnar
With the 16th annual Survivor Series just 10 days away, things are heating up in a big way on the SmackDown! scene. The dynamic duo of Edge & Rey Mysterio became the second WWE Tag Team Champions by upending Chris Benoit & Kurt Angle in a 2-out-of-3-falls rematch from their No Mercy classic. And in the night's most shocking turn of events by far, Big Show sent WWE Champion Brock Lesnar hurtling from the entrance ramp to the concrete below!
The crowd on hand at Manchester, New Hampshire's Verizon Wireless Arena got to witness
firsthand a tag team encounter of epic proportions as Chris Benoit & Kurt Angle put their Tag
Titles on the line against the men they defeated in the tournament final three weeks ago, Edge & Rey Mysterio. Contested in
a best 2 out of 3 falls rules, the match provided unparalleled excitement.
With the match tied at one fall apiece, things got controversial when Rey appeared to pin Angle and win the title for his team. Unbeknownst to referee Brian Hebner, Angle was caught in the ropes at the moment of the fall, and when this was brought to his attention, the fall was disregarded and the match continued! Nevertheless, the finish remained the same as Angle went down in defeat anyway, this time to Edge, bringing a close to the stormy reign of Kurt and Chris!
Big Show proved that he means business, and is dead serious about stopping Brock Lesnar's rampage a week from Sunday at Survivor Series. Following Lesnar's non-title victory over Eddie Guerrero, Show ambushed the champ while he was heading back up the ramp. Mercilessly, the giant tossed his rival right off the stage, rendering him unconscious!
Lesnar's agent Paul Heyman was not with his man at the time, due to an argument the two had backstage. Upset over Lesnar's uncontrollable temper, Heyman
berated the titleholder, reminding him that it was he that made Lesnar into "The Next Big Thing" and the WWE Champion, and therefore Lesnar is only to unleash his fury when Heyman says so. It appears there's some trouble in Camp Lesnar, to say the least.
The saga of Al Wilson continued on SmackDown! as well, much to his daughter Torrie's dismay. Having warned Torrie that he was about to do something he hoped she would understand, he proceeded to enter the ring with Dawn Marie and ask her to marry him! As if that wasn't wild enough, Dawn Marie actually said yes! Needless to say, Torrie promptly stormed from the arena in tears over her father's engagement to the devious rival Diva.
In other action, Matt Hardy, vowed to "soften up" the Big Show for Brock Lesnar just as he did with the Undertaker, received a vicious chokeslam for his troubles, going down in defeat to the mighty Show. So much for Mattitude Version 1!
Additionally, Michael Cole and Tazz announced the matches that will be featured on WWE's upcoming Super Tuesday special: World Heavyweight Champion Triple H will join forces with Chris Jericho, Christian & 3-Minute Warning to take on the team of Kane, Booker T, RVD, Bubba Ray Dudley & Jeff Hardy; Edge, Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit will compete in a Triple Threat Match; and in an interpromotional bikini challenge, Women's Champion Trish Stratus will oppose Torrie Wilson! The special airs next Tuesday night on UPN.

In a mixed tag team match, Billy Kidman & Torrie Wilson defeated Cruiserweight Champion Jamie Noble & Nidia when Kidman pinned Noble with a shooting star press in 5 minutes and 7 seconds.
Rikishi pinned John Cena after a "Rumpshaker" sit-down splash at 4:13.
Big Show pinned Matt Hardy following a chokeslam in 2:00.
In a best-2-out-of-3-falls match, Edge & Rey Mysterio defeated Chris Benoit & Kurt Angle to win the WWE Tag Team Championship. Edge & Mysterio won the first fall when Mysterio pinned Benoit after a modified Doomsday Device at 6:00. Benoit & Angle took the second fall when Edge submitted to Angle's anklelock after 3:26. In the third fall, it appeared that Mysterio pinned Angle with a roll-up in 8:12, but referee Brian Hebner continued the match due to Angle being in the ropes. Edge & Mysterio won the deciding fall in an additional 4:39, when Edge pinned Angle following an accidental flying headbutt from Angle's partner Benoit.
In a non-title match, WWE Champion Brock Lesnar pinned Eddie Guerrero after an F-5 in 6:40.

Maybe Brock CAN beat the Big Show!
The WWE Champion is sick of being looked at as the underdog heading into his title defense at Survivor Series this Sunday. With just three days remaining until WWE takes over a sold-out Madison Square Garden, Brock Lesnar showed that he is definitely not a paper champion that will be blown away by his huge adversary.
Even with a broken rib, the champion could not be slowed on SmackDown! After completely disregarding Paul Heyman's pleas to leave the building, Lesnar took to the ring and called out the Big Show. Once the 7-foot-2, 500-pound giant came down to face the champion, things went haywire. Lesnar bloodied Show with a torrent of steel chair shots. It looked like Show could have a painful arm injury that could help turn the tide this Sunday at Survivor Series. Brock made it clear that the championship is his, and the Big Show won't get his hands on the gold and leather without a crippling fight!
Also on SmackDown!, Chris Benoit went back and forth in blaming each other for the loss of the WWE Tag Team Championship to Edge and Rey Mysterio last week. Their argument - which was priceless to watch - got personal. Angle gloated that he had more teeth than Benoit, causing the Crippler to point out Angle's bald head! The two went back and forth for several minutes, but when the going got tough, the two hard-nosed competitors glued together.
Angle and Benoit ended up facing each other in a singles match while their opponents Sunday's Tag Team Triple Threat Elimination Match eagerly watched at ringside. But before long, Edge, Mysterio, Eddie and Chavo Guerrero all came into the ring and a classic brawl broke out! Mysterio and Edge teamed up to grasp Angle in an incredible double ankle lock, but Edge broke the hold to snap the Crossface Crippler on Benoit! Angle and Benoit managed to fight out of the jam and cleared the ring. Impressed at the sight, Angle smiled and offered a hand to Benoit. The men shook hands, and Angle even grabbed his reluctant tag team partner in a hug!
In earlier action, Eddie Guerrero came away with a win by making Rey Mysterio tap out in a breathtaking singles match that could become a match of the year candidate. Edge had a better outing than his fellow Tag Team Champion by putting Chavo away with the Edgecution.
Jamie Noble has a lot to worry about heading into Sunday's pay-per-view. The Cruiserweight Champion lost a non-title match to Billy Kidman following a Shooting Star Press. If the outcome is the same at Madison Square Garden, Kidman will walk away from the Big Apple with the Cruiserweight Title around his waist.
Dawn Marie continues to manipulate and play mind games with her adversary, Torrie, Dawn gave her fianc‰e , Torrie's father Al, an invitation for Torrie to the wedding. But when Al tried to deliver the invite, Torrie said she wouldn't attend because she knows Dawn is simply using her father as a pawn. A saddened Al turned to Dawn for some comforting that she was more than willing to give.

Brock faces suspension!
Brock Lesnar's outrage at losing the WWE Championship may keep him out of the ring for a long while. The former champ
unleashed a series of vicious assaults during SmackDown! that have him in hot water with the general manager!
Matt Hardy was the first to feel Lesnar's wrath. After doing a poor job of consoling the former champ, Lesnar picked up
the startled Matt Hardy and shoved him straight through a wall! Superstars that witnessed the attack were stunned and
afraid for their own safety. When Eddie Guerrero questioned Stephanie McMahon about her ability to control Lesnar, the
general manager promised to maintain order. She later ordered Brock to control himself or face suspension.
By the end of the night, Brock was walking on even thinner ice after smashing a steel chair into the Big Show's back. The
WWE Champion tried to get Paul Heyman to postpone the title match with Edge that evening, but Stephanie refused to do so.
Edge nearly was able to take advantage of the hobbled Big Show and take the WWE Championship. Heyman, however, came
through once again in his new role as the Big Show's agent. Heyman broke up a pin attempt by Edge and swung momentum back
in Show's favor. The largest man in sports-entertainment chokeslamed Edge several times before Brock raced in and
unleashed his most brutal attack of the night. In a scene reminiscent of this past week's Survivor Series, Lesnar swooped
Big Show up in a single smooth motion and hit the F-5! Heyman ran from the building with Lesnar following. Has Brock
snapped? Will he be off SmackDown! for good? Tune in next week to find out how Stephanie McMahon will handle the situation!
Another former champion had to deal with the aftermath of losing his title at Survivor Series. Former Cruiserweight
Champion Jamie Noble fell to Rey Mysterio in singles action. Following the match, Noble sulked about letting down his
girlfriend, Nidia. He decided there was only one thing he could do. Against Nidia's protest, Noble pledged to call his
cousin, who he feels can get him back on the winning path. Check out SmackDown! next Thursday night to see if Noble's
cousin comes through!
The relationship between Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle took another twist on SmackDown! While Kurt Angle struggled in his
match against Eddie Guerrero, Benoit appeared at the top of the entrance ramp and kept a watchful eye on the action that
included several instances of interference by Chavo. But Chavo, who lost to Benoit earlier in the night, couldn't prevent
Eddie from being pinned following a top rope Angle Slam! Angle put Chavo in the ankle lock after the match for good
measure, while Benoit smirked and clapped with approval!
In other action, John Cena lost to Rikishi but got some payback when Buchanan took down the Phat Man and Billy Kidman
upheld his Cruiserweight Championship after a tough fight with Tajiri!

Suspension be damned!
Stephanie McMahon put her foot down and disciplined Brock Lesnar, but that didn't keep the former champion ignored the
order and let loose his most vicious attack yet on the Big Show!
After being placed on indefinite suspension by the
SmackDown! general manager, Brock was shown racing away from
the arena while a horde of security guards oversaw his
departure. Rumors soon began to swirl, however, that Lesnar
had purchased a ticket and made his way back into the arena.
The rumors were proven true when Big Show was about to deliver
a chokeslam to Moolah, who made an appearance on SmackDown! in
her hometown of Columbia, S.C. Brock raced in and dropped
Show, then hit a thunderous F-5 that sent the 7-foot-2,
500-pound behemoth through the announce table!
Scott Steiner alsde a huge impact on SmackDown! The Genetic
Freak infuriated Jamie Noble by grabbing Nidia's ass
backstage. Confronting Steiner in the ring ended up being
disastrous for Noble. The former Cruiserweight Champion was
clotheslined, elbowed and military pressed by Steiner with
ease! After tossing Noble out of the ring, he grabbed Nidia's
ass a second time for good measure! Steiner then made it known
that he hasn't decided which show he will end up on, but until
he makes up his mind, he'll be flexing his peaks and please his freaks!
Some hot in-ring action marked this memorable Thanksgiving
episode of SmackDown! Los Guerreros found themselves
struggling against Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit, so the WWE Tag
Team Champions thought that letting themselves be counted out
would allow them to safely retain their titles. However,
referee Mike Chioda caught on to the ploy and foiled the plan
by announcing that the match would not end with a count out!
Los Guerreros reluctantly continued the match and pulled out a
win after Chavo illegally hit a Frog Splash that allowed Eddie to get the pin!
Of course, Thanksgiving wouldn't be complete without a turkey, and SmackDown! found one in Al Wilson. Wilson appeared in
the ring dressed as a turkey in support of his fiancee Dawn Marie in her Pilgrim Fashion Show with Torrie. Things got out
of hand in a hurry and finished with Torrie dumping a pumpkin right on her arch rival's head!

It's getting hot in here!
Kurt Angle won a Fatal Fourway Match to become the No. 1
contender for the WWE Championship
Angle earned a chance to win WWE gold at Armageddon on Sunday, Dec. 15 during this episode of SmackDown! But as the Olympic Hero found out, the Big Show will do whatever is necessary to maintain his WWE Championship.
Angle became the No. 1 contender to the title after outlasting Edge, Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit in a Fatal Fourway Match. A top-rope Angle Slam to Edge nearly knocked both men unconscious, but Angle managed to slump himself over Edge and get the pinfall. Just seconds after the bell rang, Big Show and Paul Heyman came into the picture, with the champion chokeslamming the life out of Angle.
As for Edge, it's a miracle that he even made it to the main event. Shortly after his introduction, Albert blindsided him and smashed a steel chair into his knee! Edge was carried out of the ring to the back in a scene that was eerily reminiscent of the night's opening match. Shortly after Albert pinned Rey Mysterio, the big man clobbered his much smaller opponent with a chair right on the knee. Word is that Mysterio suffered such extensive damage that surgery will be required. Tune in to SmackDown! next week for an update on the condition of WWE's premier high-flying Superstar.
Brock Lesnar wasn't in Dallas for SmackDown! due to being
suspended by General Manager Stephanie McMahon, but the former WWE Champion kept a watchful eye on things from his home in Minneapolis. Lesnar appeared via satellite at SmackDown!, and announced that he deserved
what had happened to him for associating himself with Paul Heyman. Heyman interrupted his former client and admitted that he and Big Show had indeed screwed Lesnar at Survivor Series, and they enjoyed it! Brock ended the confrontation by stating that he would be watching Big Show's title match at Armageddon in person!
Stephanie McMahon announced that she had made a personal sacrifice on Monday night in order to bring Scott Steiner to her brand. Stephanie also revealed that Steiner will appear on next week's episode of SmackDown! to officially sign a contract with her!
Torrie Wilson learned a lot about personal sacrifice on SmackDown! also. Dawn Marie cornered her archrival and admitted that while she did indeed care for Al Wilson, Torrie was the REAL object of her affection! Dawn
Marie offered an indecent proposal to Torrie: if the beautiful Diva did what Dawn
Marie wanted, then Dawn Marie promised she would not marry Torrie's father. Dawn
Marie slipped Torrie the key to her hotel room and seductively slipped away while Torrie appeared to be ill.
Even though it was obvious that she was uncomfortable, Torrie
ended up going into Dawn Marie's room later that night. Dawn
Marie reached out to caress the hot blonde, who suddenly turned away. She stopped dead as Dawn
Marie accused her of not truly loving her father. Torrie's eyes cast downward as she reluctantly returned to Dawn Marie, who twirled the champagne in her glass and smiled devilishly as SmackDown! left the air! What happened when the lights went down in
Dawn Marie's hotel room? Tune in to SmackDown! next week to find out!
In other action, former Tough Enough trainer Bill DeMott
showed he can apply the techniques he had been teaching in devastating
fashion, Billy Kidman held onto his Cruiserweight Championship
after pinning Chavo Guerrero, and Jamie Noble's losing streak
continued after a loss to Crash. A distraught Noble declared
that he will be bringing his cousin Nunzio into play in order
to reverse the trend.

Steiner seals the deal...with Bischoff!
With just three days to Armageddon, this week's SmackDown! was packed with intrigue and major happenings. With their WWE Championship match looming, the Big Show scored a crucial pinfall on Kurt Angle in their tag team main event. SmackDown! General Manager Stephanie McMahon suffered a major disappointment when Big Poppa Pump, Scott Steiner, rejected her contract offer and announced that he was RAW-bound! And in the night's most tantalizing development, Dawn Marie announced-much to Torrie Wilson's chagrin-that this Sunday at Armageddon, she intends to air footage recorded last week during their private rendezvous.
Show and his agent Paul Heyman already had a bone to pick with Angle over Angle's request that Brock Lesnar be in his corner when he challenges Show for the WWE Championship at Armageddon. When Stephanie McMahon lifted Brock's suspension and declared that he would indeed be there, Show was sent into an outraged fury. Luckily for him, he was teaming up with Albert (dubbed A-Train by Heyman) to take on Angle & Edge in a tag team main event.
Show took full advantage of the chance to incapacitate his future challenger, using Heyman's distraction to land a brutal chokeslam that put the Olympian down for the count. A-Train dealt out even more punishment after the match was over, putting the boots to Angle in a big way. Angle now has just three days to rebound from the beat down for his shot at Show's gold.
Meanwhile, Stephanie learned that when you make a promise, it's always good business to keep it. Insulted that Ms. McMahon reneged on her offer to become one of his "freaks" if he would sign on the dotted line, Scott Steiner refused to sign his SmackDown! contract. To the delight of the Hot-lanta crowd, he labeled Steph nothing more than a "tease" and announced he had made the decision to sign with RAW General Manager Eric Bischoff!
And what would SmackDown! be without the dynamic Al Wilson? When confronted with the news that Dawn Marie had indeed enjoyed carnal pleasures with his daughter the previous week, Al insisted that he still wanted to go through with the wedding! Amazingly, Dawn agreed, going back on her word that she would cancel the marriage if Torrie would consent to her "indecent proposal." An infuriated Torrie Wilson then stormed the ring and leveled Dawn Marie, even going so far as to push her own father to the mat when he tried to restrain her!
Once referees got the two Divas apart, Dawn Marie made the most scandalous announcement of all: This Sunday on pay-per-view, she plans on showing the footage she secretly recorded of herself and Torrie at the hotel last week! Undoubtedly, the action this weekend at Armageddon will be the hottest in WWE history!
In other happenings, Jamie Noble's mysterious cousin Nunzio finally crashed the party, making his presence felt during Noble's rematch with Crash. However, he was certainly nothing like the hulking, intimidating giant Noble had built him up to be! Nevertheless, his ruthless aggression looks to make him quite the formidable ally for Noble, despite the lack of size.
Also, Los Guerreros successfully defended their WWE Tag Team Championship against the team of Chris Benoit and the Cruiserweight Champion, Billy Kidman. Eddie's tainted pinfall on Kidman looks to only add more fuel to the fire as far as Eddie's Armageddon match against Benoit goes. Look for that one to be a classic.
MATCH RESULTS
B-2 (formerly Bull Buchanan) pinned Rikishi in 2:40 after B-2's homey John Cena hit him with one of his gold chains while the referee was distracted.

In the main event, WWE Champion the Big Show and A-Train (formerly Albert) defeated Kurt Angle & Edge at 11:22 when Show pinned Angle following a chokeslam.

Angle hires Heyman
Just days after defeating Big Show for the WWE Championship
at Armageddon, Kurt Angle shocked the world by revealing that
he had Paul Heyman in his corner the whole time, even though
Heyman was working for Big Show. According to the newly formed
business partners, their union was formed in an attempt to
screw Brock Lesnar out of the WWE Championship.
While celebrating their new business arrangement in the
ring, an enraged Big Show emerged from the backstage area.
Pissed off, Show went straight for Paul Heyman. Heyman,
however, was quick with his words and was able to convince
Show that he was still his favorite client, and to prove it,
he was awarding Show with the first shot at Kurt Angle's WWE
Championship.
Also on SmackDown!, Torrie Wilson told the fans that she
was not humiliated by what she did with Dawn Marie in room
357. In fact, she said that she was rather proud of herself.
According to Torrie, engaging in sexual activities with Dawn
Marie showed that she loves her father and would do anything
for him.
On the other hand, however, Torrie said that she was
ashamed of her father for breaking her heart. After hearing
this, Dawn Marie quickly invited everybody to her and Al
Wilson's wedding in two weeks on SmackDown!

Benoit becomes No. 1, at a price
Heading in to SmackDown!, fans were anxious to see the
scheduled WWE Championship match between Big Show and Kurt
Angle. Unfortunately for Big Show and the fans, the match
never took place. Rather, Stephanie McMahon took to the ring
at the top of the show and let everybody know that Angle was
physically unable to compete. Kurt's physical downfall came
when SmackDown! went off the air last week. It was then that
Brock Lesnar decimated the Champion, tearing every ligament in
his leg.
There was going to be a No. 1 Contender's match, however.
Stephanie booked Big Show vs. Chris Benoit, the winner would
face Kurt Angle for the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble.
The match was a back and forth battle with Benoit finally
winning in the end. After the pinfall, however, Benoit was
destroyed by Big Show, Kurt Angle and Team Angle -- the duo of
Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin.
In other Brock Lesnar news, Matt Hardy claimed that Lesnar
was single handedly destroying SmackDown! Being the cocky
competitor that Matt Hardy is, he challenged Brock to a match
next week on SmackDown! After the challenge was set, Matt
turned his attention on his MF-er Shannon Moore. Still injured
from the week before at the hands of Brock Lesnar, Hardy
attacked Moore, leaving him helpless in the middle of the
ring.
Elsewhere on SmackDown!, Al Wilson and Dawn Marie exchanged
holiday gifts. Al gave Dawn Marie a gift they would both
benefit from, Viagra. And Dawn Marie gave Al a video camera.
One could only hope that they do not use the two gifts
together.

Bill DeMott def. Crash
Los Guerreros def. Edge & Kidman
Rikishi def. B2
Chris Benoit def. Big Show
