Anything can happen when couples decide to marry on WWE television. Not only did Al Wilson and Dawn Marie exchange vows to become husband and wife during a special live SmackDown!, but they did so in their underwear!
Although Stephanie McMahon derailed Dawn Marie's plan to get married in the nude, that didn't stop the Diva from stripping down to her white bra and panties. Dawn Marie noted that Stephanie never said anything about Al stripping, so she began removing the clothes from her soon-to-be husband! Al was completely caught off guard, but he didn't stop his blushing bride. The minister completed the ceremony without a hitch, and the happy couple went off on their honeymoon. Before driving away, Dawn Marie and Al promised to videotape the exploits of their honeymoon and show them next week on SmackDown!
Brock Lesnar returned to action for only second time since having his suspension lifted. The former WWE Champion was jumped by Matt Hardy and Shannon Moore early in the evening while confronting Paul Heyman and the Big Show. A torrent of blood streamed from the back of Lesnar's head after taking a shot from Matt Hardy, but Version 1 would get paid back later on when Brock defeated him in singles action.
Tune in to SmackDown! next Thursday to find out which SmackDown! Superstars will be competing in this year's Royal Rumble Match!

Al Wilson may have passed on, but he was hardly resting in peace at his own wake. Dawn Marie and Torrie Wilson couldn't put their differences aside long enough to say goodbye to Al. Once Torrie arrived at the funeral home to pay her last respects, she met eye to eye with Dawn Marie. Dawn, who seemed overly dramatic and insincere at times with her mourning, accused Torrie of putting Al in his grave. Dawn said that Al had died of a broken heart because his own daughter was so against his marriage to Dawn. After alleging that Torrie was faking her grief, Dawn smacked her stepdaughter across the face à hard! Torrie couldn't believe what had happened, but recouped and delivered a smack of her own! The crowd in the funeral parlor gasped in absolute disbelief as Dawn picked up a nearby lamp and smashed it over Torrie's head as she knelt by her father's coffin!
These two bitter enemies will attempt to settle things once
and for all in the first-ever Stepmother vs. Stepdaughter
match this Sunday at the Royal Rumble.
The SmackDown! crowd was anything but dead as Rey Mysterio returned to live action for the first time since suffering a major knee injury at the hands of A-Train. Mysterio was revealed to be Brock Lesnar's tag team partner in a match against A-Train and the Big Show. Despite being at a huge size disadvantage, Mysterio sealed the win by hitting the 619 on A-Train and getting the pinfall!
SmackDown! was full of surprises from beginning to end. Nobody would have guessed that John Cena would turn against his tag team partner, B-2. But after Chavo Guerrero's Frog Splash got him the 1-2-3 on
B-2 in a tag team match, the two rappers came to blows! Suddenly, an accomplice of Cena's jumped out of the crowd and aided Cena in pounding his ex-partner. Cena later revealed that he had a new dawg at his side. The scary-looking assailant goes by the name Redd Dog!
Chris Benoit stated during SmackDown! that he would ensure that Kurt Angle is not 100 percent when the two go head to head in a WWE Championship Match this Sunday at the Royal Rumble. But Angle looked like he was ready to go. All three members of Team Angle entered the ring against Benoit and Edge in a 3-on-2 match-up. Team Angle was awarded the win by disqualification after Benoit refused to release the team's captain from the Crippler Crossface when ordered. Did Benoit manage to damage Angle just enough to give him an advantage in the WWE Championship Match? Find out this Sunday when the Royal Rumble kicks off from Boston at 8 p.m. ET!

Stephanie McMahon made good on her pledge to deliver a bombshell during SmackDown! Hulk Hogan appeared before a fanatical crowd at the Pepsi Arena in Albany, N.Y., and announced that he has signed a new contract with World Wrestling Entertainment!
The Hulkster declared that Hulkamania is running wild once again, and that he has some unfinished business to take care of. But while Hogan was outlining his objectives, he was suddenly interrupted by WWE Chairman Vince McMahon! Vince first berated his daughter Stephanie for re-signing Hogan, saying that the year is 2003 and not 1985. Vince went so far as to compare Hulkamania to Al Wilson; both are dead!
Hulk responded by saying that the first man he wants to step into the ring with, the first person who he wants to kick the hell out of, is Vince McMahon! Hogan demanded a response to his challenge, but Vince said that the only person he answers to is himself! With that, Hogan gave something to help Vince make up his mind: a smack to the head! The crowd roared as Hogan exited, leaving Vince seeing stars on the mat!
Like Vince McMahon, Team Angle also had a rough night on SmackDown! It started with Charlie Haas losing an incredible singles match against Chris Benoit and continued with Shelton Benjamin falling to Edge. Angle berated his two accomplices in the locker room, saying they should be embarrassed and ashamed after their defeats. The WWE Champion promised to show how things should be done, but he got much more than he bargained for from Rey Mysterio. Mysterio, who like Angle has just returned to action following knee surgery, gave the champion the fight of a lifetime. Angle was finally able to put away Mysterio, then latched his opponent in the ankle lock after the bell rang. Edge and Chris Benoit stormed to the ring and punished Angle harshly. Benoit delivered several German Suplexes while Edge leveled the Olympic Hero with a spear. In a final humiliating act, Edge and Benoit propped Angle up on the ropes to allow Mysterio to hit the 619!
The Undertaker returned to SmackDown! with revenge on his mind. Taker called out the Big Show in order to get retribution for the assault that put Dead Man Inc. on hiatus several months ago. Big Show came out to answer Taker, but refused to step into the ring. Instead, Show sent A-Train to tackle Undertaker. A match pitting strength vs. strength ended when A-Train tapped out to Dead Man Inc.'s Taking Care of Business submission hold!
In other action, Matt Hardy contracted Nunzio to give Shannon Moore a Mattitude adjustment. Nunzio did indeed defeat Shannon in single's action, causing Matt to again try to straighten out his sidekick. But Shannon fled the ring when Matt advanced toward the MFer!

Just one week after Hulk Hogan made his jaw-dropping return to SmackDown!, Mr. McMahon unveiled his own huge surprise. The WWE Chairman declared that he would not be facing Hogan at No Way Out, but The Rock will!
Although he was not in Green Bay, Wisc., The Rock appeared live on SmackDown! via satellite. The Great One stated that the showdown at No Way Out will be one to remember, saying that in one corner will stand the greatest Superstar to ever enter the ring, and in the other: Hulk Hogan!
Team Angle earned the opportunity to take home more WWE gold next week. Kurt Angle's understudies Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin became the No. 1 contenders to WWE Tag Team Champions Los Guerreros by defeating Edge and Chris Benoit. Of Course, Benjamin was able to get the pinfall on Benoit after Angle knocked the Crippler out cold with a shot from the WWE Championship!
The Undertaker demanded to face the Big Show on SmackDown!, but Paul Heyman's craftiness got in the way. Heyman said the Big Show had a message to deliver to the Dead Man, and he sent it by singing telegram! Heyman recruited Brian Kendrick, a Shawn Michaels trainee who will do anything to make his way into WWE, to cajole the Undertaker in the ring. But all Kendrick got was a Last Ride for his trouble!
One half of the Tag Team Champions saw action on SmackDown! as Eddie Guerrero defeated John Cena. Shannon Moore's woes continued with a loss to Cruiserweight Champion Billy Kidman. After the match, Matt Hardy lashed out at the champ by hitting him with two Twists of Fate!

When you're hot, you're hot, and Team Angle was definitely scorching on SmackDown! The rookie duo of Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas overthrew Los Guerreros to become the WWE Tag Team Champions and Kurt Angle slipped past Chris Benoit and orchestrated a beating on his arch rival Chris Benoit!
The Rock made an appearance on SmackDown!, via satellite, in order to poke fun at his No Way Out opponent, Hulk Hogan. The People's Champion was completely condescending to Hogan, who promised that Hulkamania would run wild over The Rock at No Way Out!
One week after presenting the Undertaker with a singing telegram to apologize for beating up the Undertaker, the Big Show ordered up another surprise and had Paul Heyman deliver. Taker opened up a huge wooden crate in the ring to find none other than Brother Love inside! Brother Love said he was delivering a message of love and forgiveness to "Brother Dead Man," but all he got for his effort was a chokeslam and a Tombstone piledriver!
Brian Kendrick was again backstage at SmackDown! looking for an opportunity to make an impact in WWE. He made an impression alright, thanks to Sean O'Haire. O'Haire convinced Kendrick to imitate the Nike Shox commercial by stripping down to sneakers and a scarf and streaking around the stadium! Kendrick rushed past A-Train as he was making his entrance, and managed to elude security during a wild sprint throughout the arena until he found himself cornered and had no choice but to burst in on an unsuspecting Stephanie McMahon.
After losing to Billy Kidman after the Cruiserweight Champion executed an incredible counter move, an irate Matt Hardy pledged to cut weight and compete in the Cruiserweight Division so he could win the title away from Kidman. Matt's not the only SmackDown! Superstar with some hard work ahead of him. John Cena challenged Brock Lesnar to a one-on-one match that will take place next week on SmackDown!

The match that sports-entertainment fans have anxiously hoped would happen is set to go down next week when WWE Champion Kurt Angle faces Brock Lesnar on SmackDown!
After disposing of a feisty John Cena in this week's main-event match, Lesnar ordered Angle to face him in the ring. The sly champion and his manager Paul Heyman smirked backstage and told Brock he'd have to wait another day for the faceoff. But when Brock goaded the champ by sending Cena's knee crashing into the steel ring post after an F-5 -- the same way that Lesnar put Angle on crutches for several weeks -- an enraged Angle in fact went to the ring to confront the NCAA Champion. Angle said he was suffering from a sinus infection that would keep him out of action for the evening, but he couldn't wait to teach Brock a lesson next week. Lesnar couldn't wait that long. He ended up hurling shots on Angle and his understudies Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin!
Angle and Lesnar also found out that they'll be on opposite sides when No Way Out kicks off on Feb. 23. Stephanie McMahon announced that all three members of Team Angle will battle Lesnar, Edge and Chris Benoit in a Six-man Tag Team Match!
This incredible episode of SmackDown! was complete with an announcement by Playboy Magazine founder Hugh Hefner, who revealed that a SmackDown! Diva will soon grace the pages of the revealing magazine! The Divas will be getting even more exposure in the near future, thanks to Girls Gone Wild. A representative from that production formally invited Torrie Wilson to be at their next pay-per-view. He promised that the show will be very uncensored! The girls went wild on SmackDown!, though, as Torrie Wilson defeated Dawn Marie in a special Valentine's Day Bra & Panties Match!
Rikishi discovered what Nunzio meant when he issued a warning that his family would not allow itself to be disrespected. Nunzio called upon Chuck Palumbo and Johnny "The Bull" Stamboli to issue a savage beating on the Phat Man! Nunzio warned Rikishi again not to mess with the family!
The Undertaker was the recipient of yet another gift from the Big Show this week. When the Dead Man opened the oversized wooden crate this week, he was met with a singer dressed as Boy George who was singing a nails-on-chalkboard version of "Do you really want to hurt me?" The singer suddenly attacked the surprised Undertaker, and after the Phenom thwarted the attack, it was discovered that the impersonator was none other than Kanyon!
Matt Hardy lost eight pounds in one week in his effort to qualify for the cruiserweight division. However, his strict diet severely weakened him and contributed to his loss to Rey Mysterio! Nevertheless, Matt pledged to drop the remaining two pounds and defeat Billy Kidman for the Cruiserweight Championship!
Next week, Nathan Jones is set to make his first SmackDown! appearance when he grants a special interview. Find out what's behind this gigantic, maniacal ex-con and his arrival in WWE!

Kurt Angle promised to face Brock Lesnar in the ultimate wrestling match, but the WWE Champion didn't give Brock Lesnar all the stipulations!
Angle told Lesnar that in order to get him in the ring for a one-on-one confrontation, Lesnar would first have to defeat Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin in separate consecutive singles matches! Lesnar sneered as Angle smugly grinned, but Brock chewed up the WWE Tag Team Champions as appetizers, forcing Angle to keep his word. But before a single hold could be applied, Paul Heyman nailed Lesnar with a steel chair to force a disqualification! Team Angle then took special pleasure in ganging up on Lesnar and beating him senseless! Brock will get the chance for revenge this Sunday at No Way Out when he teams up with Edge and Chris Benoit to take on all three Team Angle members in a six-man tag match!
Kurt Angle wasn't the only one playing mind games on SmackDown! The Big Show delivered two oversized wooden crates to the ring for the Undertaker. The Dead Man hesitantly pulled one open and scooped up a puppy that came bounding out! After handing off the dog, Taker began smashing the second box, expecting to find the Big Show. The box was empty, but obviously served as an effective diversion for Show, who leapt into the ring and attacked the Dead Man mercilessly! Things couldn't be any hotter between Taker and Big Show heading into their match at No Way Out!
The Rock returned to SmackDown! and found himself face to face with Hulk Hogan for one final time before their WrestleMania X-8 rematch at No Way Out. No punches were thrown, but The Rock's cockiness left a sneer on Hogan's face. The two sports-entertainment icons are undoubtedly geared up to make this confrontation a historic one on Sunday!
Matt Hardy had to shed every piece of clothing on his body, but Version 1 cur down to 220 pounds to qualify for his Cruiserweight Championship Match against Billy Kidman at No Way Out! Matt was so excited that he exuberantly embraced Shannon Moore! Mattitude kept the momentum going as Hardy and Moore teamed up to defeat Kidman and Rey Mysterio in tag team action after Matt hit the Twist of Fate on the champion.
Michael Cole sat down with Nathan Jones, who stated that his jail time was in the past and that he's now focused on two things. Jones said he wants the WWE Championship, but first, he wants to take down the biggest dog in the yard -- the Undertaker. You can bet that Jones will be watching the Undertaker very closely this Sunday at No Way Out!

Kurt Angle breathed a sigh of relief after hearing that he would not have to face Brock Lesnar next week in a Steel Cage Match. But Angle's agent, Paul Heyman, was not so lucky. After defeating Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin in a Handicap Match, Lesnar was allowed to choose a Team Angle member as his opponent next week. Lesnar could very well have chosen to take on the WWE Champion, but he put his personal need for revenge ahead of his career aspirations and said he would be seeing Paul Heyman in the cage next week!
Angle had already dodged a bullet earlier in the night against an unlikely opponent -- Brian Kendrick. Kendrick convinced Stephanie McMahon to give him a chance to earn a spot on SmackDown! The general manager stated that if Kendrick could last five minutes in the ring with Angle, he'd be given a job. Although Angle toyed with Kendrick for much of the match, the would-be Superstar surprised everyone with his toughness, quickness and ingenuity. It looked like Kendrick might put together enough of a fight to last the five minutes, but Angle got the pinfall with two seconds left on the clock! Afterwards, Angle continued to beat on Kendrick and even hit him with an F-5 to send Lensar a message!
Stephanie McMahon announced another executive decision she had made. Thanks to her dealings, a SmackDown! Diva will be appearing in next month's edition of Playboy Magazine, and that Diva will be none other than Torrie Wilson!
SmackDown! fans were shocked to see Rhyno make his return to in-ring action this week, teaming with Chris Benoit. The Man-Beast stepped back into competition for the first time in more than a year. He looked just as dominant as ever, hitting his powerful Gore with devastating force and picking up the win in a tag team battle against Matt Hardy and Shannon Moore
Nunzio's Full-Blooded Italians -- Chuck Palumbo and Johnny "The Bull" Stamboli -- couldn't help him overcome Eddie Guerrero. Eddie countered Nunzio's attempt at a pinfall and managed to pick up his own three-count! After the bell, Los Guerreros brawled with the FBI until Rikishi came and helped Eddie & Chavo clear the ring!

Hulk Hogan and WWE Chairman Vince McMahon have had their differences for years. Finally, the two sports-entertainment powers will settle things in the ring at the granddaddy of them all, WrestleMania XIX!
Vince and Hogan put all their cards out on the table during SmackDown! as each bluntly spelled out their reasons for their hatred. The Chairman despises Hogan for leaving him to go to WCW and for testifying against him in a federal trial. Hogan accused Vince of abusing Hulkamania just to get rich. The Hulkster warned Vince to start training, taking vitamins and saying his prayers because Hulkamania will run right over him at WrestleMania!
WrestleMania will come early, though, as Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle are locked into a singles match for next week's episode of SmackDown! Stephanie McMahon ordered the match to take place if Brock could defeat Paul Heyman in a Steel Cage Match. Despite Team Angle's efforts to gang up on Lesnar, the irate former champion hit the F-5 and pinned Heyman for the win!
Rey Mysterio already knows that he'll have a spot on the biggest show of the year. Mysterio outlasted Tajiri and Jamie Noble to win a Triple Threat Match and earn a shot at the Cruiserweight Championship at WrestleMania! He'll face Matt Hardy, who turned away Billy Kidman in a rematch of their clash at No Way Out.
The Undertaker has taken Nathan Jones under his wing and has begun training the strongman to be a dominant Superstar. Jones ended up rushing to the Undertaker's aid when Dead Man Inc. was being beat down by both A-Train and Big Show. Jones interference caused Taker to get disqualified in his match against A-Train, but a message was clearly delivered.
Torrie Wilson is set to grace the pages of next month's Playboy Magazine! You won't have to wait until it hits newsstands to see what's coming your way. Next week on SmackDown! the Playboy with Torrie on the cover will be revealed!

Paul Heyman wasn't at ringside, but that didn't stop Kurt Angle from devising an insidious plan to defeat Brock Lesnar on SmackDown! The Olympic gold medalist used a look-alike to do his dirty work for him.
Angle, who sported a red hooded sweatshirt, must have slipped out of the ring during Brock Lesnar's entrance. Someone who looked nearly identical to Angle took his place and got the beating of a lifetime. Brock seemed to have finished off "Kurt" with an F-5 and went for the pinfall when he realized that something was amiss. He bolted to his feet and went on alert, but was still caught off guard by the real Angle, who rolled the challenger up for the pinfall!
Angle immediately fled the scene while Brock tracked down the imposter. Brock vented his rage on the fake champion, even sending him crashing into the steel ring post with an F-5!
Team Angle was up to no good all night. Earlier in the evening, Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas thought they were pretty smart to break up a match that pitted Rhyno and Chris Benoit against Los Guerreros. The winner of that contest was to be given a title shot against Team Angle. But the no-contest that resulted by the champs' interference prompted Stephanie McMahon to put all three teams in the ring at WrestleMania in a Triple Threat Match for the WWE Tag Team Championship!
Mr. McMahon was more direct in dealing with his WrestleMania opponent, Hulk Hogan. Although the Hulkster was not in the arena, Mr. McMahon sent him a message. Vince said that after WrestleMania he will be devastated because he'll have killed his own creation: Hulkamania. Later, it was announced that Vince and Hulk will meet next week on SmackDown! to sign the contract that will make their WrestleMania showdown official!
In other action, Matt Hardy issued a challenge to any cruiserweight who wanted to get in the ring with him. To Hardy's surprise a competitor with a penguin masked entered the ring and gave him a workout. During the course of their frenetic match, the mask came off to reveal that Brian Kendrick as the challenger! When things started to turn against Matt, Shannon Moore pulled him from the ring and Kendrick was granted a win by a count out!
As promised, Torrie Wilson revealed the scorching hot cover of her on Playboy Magazine! If the cover is any indication (and it most definitely is!) the inside pages will be very revealing! Speaking of which, Sean O'Haire pulled Dawn Marie aside on SmackDown! and convinced the Diva that Torrie Wilson didn't have to be the only one to bare all. Dawn wowed the live crowd in Pittsburgh by opening up her blouse in the middle of the ring!

Hulk Hogan went to SmackDown! with the intention of signing a contract to make his match against Mr. McMahon at WrestleMania XIX official. But the Hulkster didn't use a pen to scrawl his signature. Instead, a brutal beat down from Mr. McMahon caused Hogan to sign the contract in his own blood!
Hogan met Mean Gene in the ring and stated that he would agree to never wrestle again if he lost to Mr. McMahon, but there was no way he would ever let Hulkamania die. As the Hulkster stared at the entranceway in anticipation of Mr. McMahon's appearance, the WWE Chairman attacked from behind without warning! Vince cracked a steel chair over Hogan's back, then calmly inked his name on the dotted line. Vince then took the pen and stabbed Hogan repeatedly in the forehead to produce a torrent of blood. Mr. McMahon took his rival's bloody hand and smeared the Hulk's mark on the contract. He then left Hogan to bleed in the middle of the ring.
Kurt Angle made sure to get the best of Brock Lesnar again this week, and this time he might have physically damaged Lesnar's chances to strip away the WWE Championship at WrestleMania. But this showdown won't be an average Championship Match. While gloating over his win against Lesnar last week, Angle was interrupted by Stephanie McMahon. The SmackDown! General Manager told the champ that he could not rely on a disqualification or countout to maintain his title at WrestleMania. Stephanie declared that should someone interfere on Kurt's behalf, he would be disqualified and the title would land in Lesnar's possession. Lesnar later came out to face Angle, but was cut down with a crutch shot from Kurt's brother Eric. The Olympic gold medalist finished off the challenger with an Angle Slam through a steel chair!
After weeks of trying, Brian Kendrick earned a spot on the SmackDown! roster after accomplishing a challenge set forth by Stephanie. Kendrick conquered Shannon Moore in single's action thanks to some help from Rey Mysterio. Mysterio kept Matt Hardy busy outside the ring so that no interference would deny Kendrick his dream.

Hulk Hogan may have walked out of WrestleMania XIX with a win, but it appears that it's Mr. McMahon who's enjoying the last laugh in this heated two-decade old rivalry.
On SmackDown!, the WWE Chairman appeared to accept his defeat graciously by calling Hogan to the ring and shaking his hand. But you can never trust Vince. On his way back up the ramp, he turned and delivered some shocking news to the Hulkster. Vince vowed that Hogan would never wrestle another match. He declared that he would pay Hogan to sit at home for the duration of his contract. Doing so will keep Hogan from ever appearing in front of his Hulkamaniacs and forcing Hulkamania to die a slow, painful death! a red-faced Hogan attempted to get his hands on his nemesis once more, but Vince arranged for a ring of security personnel to guard him. All Hogan could do was get into a limo with his son and Jimmy Hart and drive away from Vince's taunts.
Although one Superstar appears to have departed from WWE, two others are back in. Rowdy Roddy Piper will bring back his famed "Piper's Pit" show starting next week. Plus, the live crowd was visibly shocked when Sable made her way to the ring during Torrie Wilson's coming out party to celebrate her appearance in Playboy Magazine! Sable, the first WWE Diva to appear in Playboy, said many people don't believe there's room on SmackDown! for both her and Torrie. However, Sable thinks the two of them will become good friends. She finished by planting a seductive yet seemingly indecent kiss on Torrie's lips!
Their incredible match at WrestleMania XIX certainly took its toll on Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle. According to SmackDown! General Manager Stephanie McMahon, Angle will miss as much as two months due to neck and knee injuries. Brock Lesnar suffered a severe concussion and will return next week. In the meantime, Stephanie arranged a three week tournament to decide who will face Brock for the title at Backlash. This week, the Undertaker, John Cena, Chris Benoit and Rhyno all advanced to the semifinal round.
Brock has some competition to deal with upon his return, however. Cruiserweight Champion Matt Hardy challenged Lesnar to a Champion vs. Champion Match next week on SmackDown! Will Lesnar take on Mattitude? Tune in to SmackDown! next week to find out!

John Cena and Chris Benoit each came out of the semifinal round in the WWE Championship Tournament with wins, pitting them against each other next week on SmackDown! The winner of their match will face Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship at Backlash! Speaking of Lesnar, just 11 days after suffering a painful concussion while winning the WWE Championship, Brock put down Matt Hardy after reversing a would-be Twist of Fate into an F-5.
While Benoit used his mat skills to slip past Rhyno, Cena had a little outside help. The FBI took turns pounding on the Undertaker with the referee caught outside the ring. A final steel chair blow from Nunzio allowed Cena to escape with the pinfall.
Their was no escape for Team Angle in their non-title match on SmackDown! The unlikely team of Rey Mysterio and Tajiri upset the Tag Team Champions following a 619 on Charlie Haas!
Piper's Pit returned in grand fashion on SmackDown! The first guest was none other than WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. Mr. McMahon and Rowdy Roddy Piper made it perfectly clear that they each hated each other with a passion. But the real fireworks exploded after Mr. McMahon left and Rikishi entered the set with a coconut. Rikishi planned to avenge a vicious attack on his fellow Samoan, Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka, at Piper's hands several years ago. But the tables were turned when Sean O'Haire burst onto the scene and leveled Rikishi with a vicious clothesline! Piper finished off Rikishi by smashing the coconut across the Samoan's skull!
There's still no telling what to make of Sable's infatuation with Torrie Wilson. Is Sable enveloped in jealousy, or are deeper feelings at work? Sable is definitely infatuated with Torrie Wilson, but it's hard to say whether or not that's a good thing for this month's Playboy Magazine covergirl. Sable, serving as the referee in Torrie's match against Nidia, literally kicked Jamie Noble out of the ring and counted out the 1-2-3 for Torrie. Earlier, Sable had instigated a steamy encounter with Torrie in the locker room that left Torrie visibly uncomfortable.
Jimmy "The Superfly" Snuka crashed Piper's Pit this week in hopes of avenging the vicious attack he absorbed more than a decade ago. But Sean O'Haire denied Snuka by dropping him with a kick to the back of the head! Even Rikishi couldn't even things up when he rushed to Snuka's aid. Cena manhandles the champ before Backlash
John Cena made it clear on SmackDown! that Brock Lesnar's size, strength and skills do not scare him. Judging from his actions on Thursday night, it's clear that Cena won't back down from the WWE Champion when they clash this Sunday at Backlash!
Cena opened the evening by defeating Rhyno to continue his impressive winning streak. Later, as Lesnar was about to pin A-Train, Cena burst into the ring and broke up the pinfall. In an incredible display of strength, Cena manhandled the champion with a Death Valley Driver! By the time Cena got through sending a message to Brock, the champion was dripping blood from his forehead. Will Lesnar's run as WWE Champion be short lived? Tune in to Backlash this Sunday at 8 ET on pay-per-view!
The Sable Invitational brought together three of SmackDown!'s hottest Divas for a Bikini Challenge. With Sable judging the entrants, Nidia, Torrie and Dawn Marie all showed off what they had to offer. Despite the crowd's input, Sable declared that there would be a tie for first place between Nidia and Dawn Marie. Torrie was left speechless, then had to endure Sable's mockery afterward.
If Sean O'Haire hadn't been at ringside to back up Rowdy Roddy Piper, then Rikishi surely would have walked into Backlash with a clean win behind him. However, O'Haire made sure that this match was anything but a fair fight. Although Piper was disqualified, he and O'Haire unleashed a stiff beating upon Rikishi.
The Big Show lost to a Superstar less than half his size for the second week in a row. While the angry giant searched for Rey Mysterio outside the ring, he was blindsided by the high-flyer and was counted out, giving Tajiri the win!

Liberty and Justice for All!
Piper's Pit took on a patriotic theme this week as Mr. America debuted on SmackDown! The blue-masked Superstar arrived in the ring to his "Real American" theme song and promptly put down Roddy Piper's assertion that he was actually Hulk Hogan. "That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard, dude!" Mr. America bellowed. "I am not Hulk Hogan, brother!"
Mr. McMahon shared Piper's belief and let Mr. America know it. After making his case to no avail, Vince smiled and said that since Mr. America had signed a contract, he as WWE Chairman could fire him! Mr. America gained the upper hand, though, by stating that he had signed an ironclad contract with Stephanie McMahon that precluded Vince from cutting him loose! To cap his debut, Hoga...er...Mr. America asked, "What'cha gonna do when the 24-inch patriots run wild on you?" before clearing the ring!
Two other Superstars wearing red, white and blue didn't have as successful a night as Mr. America. Although Team Angle managed to get their prized WWE Tag Team Championship belts back from Los Guerreros, Eddie and Chavo managed to thieve Kurt Angle's prized Olympic gold medals! Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin, who had hung the medals on a portrait of Kurt at ringside, couldn't do anything but watch the Guerreros race away! It was announced on SmackDown!, however, that Los Guerreros and Team Angle will face each other in a Ladder Match at Judgment Day!
In other action, Brock Lesnar made it clear that he thought Big Show's post-match attack on Rey Mysterio at Backlash was despicable. Brian Kendrick busted out a rap to John Cena, taunting him for his loss to Lesnar at Backlash, only to get Cena's F-U finisher in return! Sable and Torrie Wilson teamed up against Dawn Marie and Nidia, but Sable abandoned her teammate midway through the match, giving Torrie no choice but to tap out in submission!

Lesnar, Big Show set for Judgment Day Stretcher Match!
The Big Show has a stretcher with Brock Lesnar's name on it, literally! This week on SmackDown!, a WWE Championship match was announced for Judgment Day. Big Show will take on Brock Lesnar in a Stretcher Match! In this confrontation, a winner will be declared only after one of the Superstars has been beaten so badly that he has to be placed on a gurney and wheeled out of the arena!
Mr. McMahon remained convinced that Mr. America was indeed Hulk Hogan. In an attempt to prove his theory, the WWE Chairman arranged to have Hulk Hogan appear live on SmackDown! via satellite from his home in Florida. That way, Vince thought, there would be no way Mr. America could appear on SmackDown! Vince even got Stephanie to admit that should Mr. America turn out to be Hogan, then his employment contract would be null and void.
Hogan appeared via satellite and admitted there were some similarities between the two, but he is much bigger. Mr. McMahon then gloated over the fact that Mr. America would not appear on the show, and refused to believe several people backstage who told him that Mr. America was indeed in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. It wasn't until Mr. America spoke from the center of the ring that an angry Mr. McMahon confronted the Superstar. Vince attacked Mr. America and attempted to remove his mask, but he was thrown inadvertently into Stephanie, who was knocked out and carried to the back by the patriotic Mr. America. Stephanie later blamed her father for causing the huge welt on her face!
Torrie Wilson quickly disposed of Dawn Marie in a singles match, then accepted a challenge from Sable. The two Divas will face each other in a Bikini Match at Judgment Day!
Team Angle managed to steal back Kurt Angle's Olympic gold medals momentarily on SmackDown! But after they pulled out a win over Rikishi and Tajiri, they turned around and watched in horror as Eddie and Chavo escaped through the crowd not only with the medals, but with the framed portrait of Kurt Angle as well!

Mr. McMahon opened SmackDown! by asking for a volunteer to take on and "castrate" Mr. America this Sunday at Judgment Day. Although he didn't outright volunteer for the job, Rowdy Roddy Piper nonetheless found himself locked into a match with Mr. America this Sunday!
After Piper became exasperated by Mr. America's tough talk on Piper's Pit, the Hot Scot assaulted the Superstar and sent Sean O'Haire to silence a vocal fan at ringside who had been given a large American flag to wave from Mr. America. While O'Haire and Piper began ganging up on Hogan, this fan leapt into the ring and smacked Piper with the flag! O'Haire took the young man down, and an angry Piper pounced. While trying to pull the fan back into the ring to get a beating, Piper's face went white as a sheet as he ripped off the kid's prosthetic leg! Piper meekly laid the limb on the mat and slithered out of the ring. He found a red-faced Mr. McMahon backstage. The WWE Chairman was intensely concerned that the fan would sue his company because of Piper's action. As punishment, he ordered the Hot Scot to face Mr. America at Judgment Day.
Rey Mysterio's return to SmackDown! was nearly ruined by the Big Show. Show scooped up Mysterio during a backstage interview and brought him into the ring where he threatened to assault the high-flyer once again with a stretcher. But Mysterio battled back and held Show off long enough for Brock Lesnar to race down and wreck Big Show with an F-5! Mysterio and Lesnar celebrated as the WWE Champion watched his angry Judgment Day opponent vow revenge this Sunday.
Sable and Torrie, who are locked into their own showdown at Judgment Day, each gave a taste of what lies in store this Sunday during their Bikini Challenge. After revealing her skimpy bikini, Torrie hinted that she may reveal a lot more than that on pay-per-view!
Eddie Guerrero found himself without Chavo at ringside when he faced Shelton Benjamin. Latino Heat wasn't alone, though. He brought a portrait of Kurt Angle to ringside and adorned it with a fake mustache and sombrero! Shelton got the win when Charlie Haas raced to the ring with a ladder as a distraction, but Eddie got the last laugh when he beat down both men and smashed the portrait right over Shelton's head! Eddie still must find someone to take the place of Chavo, who recently suffered an injury, during his Tag Team Ladder Match against Team Angle. Find out who will be in Eddie's corner this Sunday at Judgment Day!

SmackDown! was reelin’ and rockin’ at the historic Greensboro Coliseum this week, as fans witnessed the return of a legend and the triumph of WWE’s black hearted chairman!
After weeks away from the ring thanks to a vicious assault from the Full Blooded Italians, Undertaker burst back on to the scene without missing a beat! Right out of the gate, his unfortunate victims were none other than the FBI, who were laying a Brooklyn-style beat-down on WWE Champion Brock Lesnar when the Dead Man stormed to the ring and made the save.
Does this mean that Brock and the ‘Taker, formerly bitter enemies, are now on the same page? Or was ‘Taker simply looking for some good old-fashioned revenge? Hopefully, the answer will soon be made clear.
A count-out victory for Sean O’Haire over Mr. America means that the star-spangled Superstar will be forced to take a lie detector test next week on SmackDown!, as per Vince McMahon’s pre-match stipulation. Mr. McMahon, still insisting that Mr. America is actually Hulk Hogan, will have the chance to prove it to the world next week!
It was Mr. America’s good nature that caused his downfall, as the count out occurred when he was outside the ring trying to prevent Zach Gowen, his young handicapped supporter, from being arrested at the behest of McMahon for his “assault” on the chairman last Sunday at Judgment Day.
Also on the show, Rey Mysterio earned a shot at Cruiserweight Champion Matt Hardy when he defeated both of Matt’s disciples, Shannon Moore and Crash, in a Handicap Match. The master of Mattitude was less than pleased, and put a hurting on both his followers after the bout. And Eddie Guerrero & Tajiri successfully defended their newly won WWE Tag Team Championship against Team Angle thanks to Eddie’s “lying, cheating and stealing” tactics.
The program also featured an in-depth interview with the inspirational Zach Gowen, conducted by SmackDown! General Manager Stephanie McMahon, in which Gowen declared his dream of one day becoming a wrestler, despite only having one leg.
Sable took exception to Tazz’s choice of Torrie Wilson as the bikini contest winner last Sunday at Judgment Day, and expressed her anger by pouring water all over the announcer’s head! And finally, the announcement has been officially made: Kurt Angle will make his anticipated return to SmackDown! in two weeks!

Mr. America IS NOT Hulk Hogan, Mr. McMahon IS a pervert
As promised, Mr. America took a lie detector test this week on SmackDown! According to Mr. McMahon, the test was supposed to prove that the man under the Mr. America mask was Hulk Hogan. Unfortunately for McMahon, the test did just the opposite.
After a series of questions, Mr. America was finally asked if he was Hulk Hogan. Mr. America answered "no." The lie detector revealed that Mr. America was telling the truth. Not happy with the results, McMahon asked Mr. America the same question several different ways. Each and every time, the lie detector stated that Mr. America was telling the truth -- he is not Hulk Hogan.
Finally, Mr. McMahon attempted to prove that the lie detector was broken. In doing so, he attached himself to the machine and told the police officer overlooking the process to ask him any question at all. McMahon passed some rather easy questions. Then it was on to the hard stuff -- Mr. America grabbed the microphone and began to ask his own series of questions. At the end of the session, WWE fans learned that the following items are true about Mr. McMahon:
After the lie detector test, an angry Mr. McMahon ran in to General Manager Stephanie McMahon's office. He blamed his daughter for being embarrassed. He then told her that things were going to change for the better starting next week on SmackDown!
Elsewhere on SmackDown!, fans were treated to a video montage of former WCW star Ultimo Dragon. At the end of the video, it was stated that Ultimo Dragon would be coming soon to WWE.
In the main event of the evening, all three members of F.B.I. were scheduled to battle Brock Lesnar and the Undertaker. Before the match, however, Nunzio announced that the giant Big Show would be taking his place in the contest. The match ended by Show pinning WWE Champion Lesnar after a devastating chokeslam.
Match results:

The Basham Brothers defeated Spanky and Rikishi via pinfall.
Big Show, Chuck Palumbo and Johnny Stamboli defeated WWE

Rey Mysterio came into SmackDown! hobbling. The past few months have been physically and mentally challenging for Mysterio. Not only was her seriously injured after a brutal attack by the Big Show. but a groin injury he recently suffered has slowed him down. But Mysterio wouldn't let this hamper his quest to capture WWE gold on Thursday night. In an epic match, Mysterio rolled up Matt Hardy to become the new WWE Cruiserweight Champion! Mysterio, competing near his hometown of San Diego, celebrated with his son Dominick in the ring while his family cried with happiness from their ringside seats.
Also, Mr. McMahon himself pointed to Zach Gowen as a person who refused to let his physical shortfalls stop him. The WWE Chairman initially called Gowen an American success story, but then Mr. McMahon's sinister side came out. He said that he would give Zach a chance to accomplish his dream of becoming a WWE Superstar. But to do that, he'd have to beat Mr. McMahon in an arm wrestling match next week on SmackDown! "You do look like you have two arms," Mr. McMahon mocked. While he continued to talk trash, Roddy Piper snuck behind Gowen, allowing Vince to push the one-legged teen to the ground in humiliating fashion. To cap off the embarrassing spectacle, Vince mocked Gowen by saying he has as much chance of winning next week's arm wrestling match as a one legged man has in an ass-kicking contest!
Kurt Angle felt so pumped up about returning to SmackDown! that he even ordered his theme music played a second time after his entrance so he could lead the crowd in the "You suck!" chant. Angle quickly stated that he intended to become WWE Champion again. In an encounter with Brock Lesnar, he thanked the current champion for his support while in the hospital. Kurt said that Brock had earned his respect and he thanked him for giving him the toughest match of his career at WrestleMania XIX. However, the Big Show earlier had tough words for Kurt, and it appears that Brock, Angle and Big Show may all be on a collision course with the WWE Championship in the middle.
As if Mr. McMahon hadn't caused enough trouble with his treatment of Zach Gowen, Vince also targeted his own daughter, Stephanie. Vince told the SmackDown! General Manager that she needed help around the office, and he had hired her a new personal assistant: Sable! Stephanie was clearly unhappy about this decision, but her father dismissed her protests as mere jealousy over Sable's good looks!

With the ring reinforced after last week’s unbelievable match, Big Show and Lesnar collided once again with the WWE Championship on the line. The match came to an end when Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin interfered on Show’s behalf, but that was only the beginning of the incredible action.
Kurt Angle immediately hit the ring to help out Brock, just as Brock had helped him earlier in the show. But Big Show’s fury would not be denied. He viciously chokeslammed Angle, and when Mr. America tried to make his presence felt and bodyslam Show, the star-spangled Superstar received a chokeslam for his troubles as well.
Earlier in the night, the former Team Angle hit the ring to verbally run down their one-time leader, and called him out. Refusing to take their insults lying down, Angle challenged either of them to a match, his first since suffering serious neck injuries in his match with Lesnar at WrestleMania. Haas accepted the challenge, and it was on!
Kurt proved that he hasn’t lost a step during his recovery, delivering an incredible match with the young Haas. In the end, Angle’s experience won out, but Shelton Benjamin wasn’t impressed, and tried to put the boots to the Olympian after the match was over. That’s when Lesnar, Angle’s former adversary, hit the ring to defend the man he’s developed a hell of a lot of respect for in recent weeks.
Poor Zach Gowen was the victim of sadistic head games from Sable and Vince McMahon. This week, that meant Sable pretended to seduce Gowen, only to rebuff his advances at the last minute and cruelly humiliate him. Vince and Sable were pleased, but SmackDown! General Manager Stephanie McMahon was not. Angrier at her father than anyone has ever seen, Stephanie demanded that he leave Zach alone and let him live out his dream of becoming a WWE Superstar.
Also on the program, Ron Simmons & Bradshaw reunited to save the Undertaker from another beatdown at the hands of the Full-Blooded Italians. It looks like the APA is back in business! The tournament to establish the first WWE United States Champion was also kicked off, with Chris Benoit defeating tag-team partner Rhyno in an opening match. We’re sure this didn’t do much to help their strained partnership!
Sean O’Haire scored an impressive upset victory over Eddie Guerrero, one half of the WWE Tag Team Champions. Of course, Rowdy Roddy Piper spitting tequila in Eddie’s face from ringside didn’t hurt! And a special promo was aired announcing the WWE debut of international sensation Ultimo Dragon next week on SmackDown! from Madison Square Garden.
Chris Benoit & Rhyno defeated Matt Hardy & Shannon Moore when Shannon Moore tapped out to Benoit's Crossface.
Eddie Guerrero defeated Ultimo Dragon to advance in the U.S. Championship Tournament.
In mixed tag action, Billy Gunn & Torrie Wilson defeated Jamie Noble & Nidia after a DDT on Nidia helped Torrie pick up the pinfall. After the match, Jamie Noble was taken out by Billy Gunn after propositioning Torrie with an indecent proposal.
Big Show, Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin defeated Brock Lesnar in a 3-on-1, Falls-Count-Anywhere Match.
When Stephanie finally found Sable backstage, Sable got more than she bargained for. The two divas through several punches back and forth before Stephanie finally ended the altercation by tearing Sable's shirt and bra off, exposing her bare chest. What will happen when these two meet at Vengeance? Undoubtedly, Sable will be looking for revenge. Will everybody's clothes remain on? Find out this Sunday, live on pay-per-view.
The boss struck first this Thursday when Mr. McMahon took a steel chair to an already injured Zach Gowen. The blow was so severe that it took Gowen out of his six-man match match completely. Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar continued on with out Zach, but the numbers were too great for them, as they fell to The World's greatest Tag Team and Big Show.
Another match was named for Vengeance when Torrie told Jamie Noble that she would sleep with him next Thursday on SmackDown! if she could beat Billy Gunn at the pay-per-view on Sunday. Will Torrie and Jamie be getting busy next week on SmackDown!?
The new WWE Champion was at SmackDown! to celebrate his fourth reign at the top. Of Angle's four WWE Championship runs, he claims that this one is far and away his favorite because he wasn't sure if he was going to be able to get in the ring again after WrestleMania, let alone win the title.
Before Angle could go any further, his friend Brock Lesnar hit the ring. Lesnar accepted the defeat, but challenged Angle for the title soon after.
Enter Mr. McMahon. According to McMahon, Angle went to Vince and pleaded to him not to give Lesnar a re-match. Angle heartily denies the statement. McMahon goes forward with naming an alternative match nonetheless. Rather than Lesnar vs. Angle, Mr. McMahon teamed the two powerhouses together to take on a team of his choosing. That team was Big Show and A-Train, which Lesnar and Angle went on to defeat.
After the match, however, Mr. McMahon came to ringside to tell Lesnar he was scheduled for a match next week on SmackDown! against him, Mr. McMahon... in steel cage!
Also on SmackDown!, Torrie's night of passionate sex with Jamie Noble turned naughty when Billy Gunn entered the picture. By the end of the night, it was Torrie, Noble, Billy and Nidia all sharing the same bed.
Brock Lesnar and Mr. McMahon were supposed to be enemies.
They were supposed to settle their score in a cage match at
SmackDown!. Much to everyone’s surprise, however, they conspired
to give WWE Champion Kurt Angle one of the worst beatings of his
life.
The cage match between Mr. McMahon and Lesnar did happen, but it
ended differently than anyone could have imagined.
Early in the evening, it looked as if the match would not take
place as Brock Lesnar was discovered unconscious in the back. At
the time, no one knew what happened, but it seemed as if Lesnar
would not be able to wrestle.
He did recover, however, and his match against Mr. McMahon with
Angle as the special referee went off without a hitch. Both men
slugged it out for a while before Lesnar prepared to finish Mr.
McMahon off with an F-5. As he had him over his shoulders,
though, he appeared to pass out and crumpled to the canvas. Mr.
McMahon covered Lesnar for the pin, but Angle refused to count,
instead calling for help from the back. With Angle’s back
turned, Lesnar sprang to his feet and F-5’d the WWE Champion.
Then he proceeded to beat him senseless, telling Angle all the
while that the WWE Championship belongs to him.
Also on SmackDown!, John Cena gained a measure of revenge
against Undertaker by beating him in a hard fought match. The
ending was not without controversy, though. Albert interfered
during the match, laying the Deadman out with a vicious kick to
the chops.

With thoughts of Brock Lesnar's disgusting attack on his "friend" Kurt Angle still fresh on everybody's mind, Mr. McMahon kicked off SmackDown! by introducing the fans to the real Brock Lesnar. The former WWE Champion hit the ring, much to the dismay of the fans in attendance.
Lesnar told the fans that Angle was in fact his friend. He then proceeded to give his definition of friendship: "The art of using somebody to your advantage so that they can help you succeed in life. Once they can no longer help you, they are no longer your friend."
Apparently, Lesnar thought that Angle could no longer help him. Mr. McMahon then rewarded the real Brock Lesnar with a match at SummerSlam with Kurt Angle for the WWE Championship.
While McMahon and Lesnar celebrated their new friendship in the ring, Stephanie McMahon walked out from the backstage area. The returning Stephanie accused her father of sending A-Train out to get her at Vengeance, thus causing the SmackDown! General Manager to miss much time. An irate Mr. McMahon then gave Stephanie something to really be upset about -- he put her in a match against A-Train later in the night.
The match between Stephanie and A-Train was obviously a
one-sided affair, with A-Train winning in the end. However,
there was some doubt that A-Train would win when Undertaker came
out and attacked him. Luckily for the Train, Big Show Pearl
Harbored 'Taker, allowing A-Train to concentrate on getting the
win against Stephanie.

With just 72 hours to go until his WWE Championship match with Kurt Angle at SummerSlam, Brock Lesnar set out to prove that he was the superior athlete in the SmackDown! locker room. Much like he did to Spanky the week prior, Lesnar was out to destroy anybody that got in his way. This week, his victim was Zach Gowen.
With Zach's mother at ringside, Lesnar's attack on Gowen was absolutely disgusting. After countless chair shots and two F-5s into the steel ring post, Zach was left nearly lifeless in a pool of his own blood.
Lesnar's opponent for SummerSlam was in action at SmackDown!,

After defeating Brock Lesnar and Big Show in a Triple Threat Match, Undertaker laid claim to the number 1 contender’s spot and earned a match against Kurt Angle for the WWE Championship. The Triple Threat match came about after Brock Lesnar demanded a rematch against Kurt Angle. Calling what happened at SummerSlam “fluke,” a “miracle” and a “mirage” Lesnar told the world that he should get a return bout against Angle. Undertaker interrupted Lesnar and told him that he had his chance and now it was time for him to “go to the end of the line.” The Big Show then came to the ring and claimed that he was the rightful number one contender. Finally, SmackDown! General Manager Stephanie McMahon came to the ring and announced that the three could settle it in the ring. After a hard fought match, the Deadman was able to secure a pinfall on Lesnar.
Earlier in the evening, Eddie Guerrero came out to a hometown
hero’s welcome only to be rudely interrupted by John Cena. Cena
insulted Guerrero and the El Paso crowd. Guerrero tried to
contain himself, but could only take so much before hammering
away at the Massachusetts native. This encounter set up a match
later in the evening for Eddie’s United States Championship.
Cena ended up being disqualified for a low blow and Eddie
retained the championship.

VINCE UNLOCKS A MONSTER
Sept. 4, 2003
Just by looking at him, you could tell that Brock Lesnar is a monster. In addition, his actions over the past several months have proved that he is a monster. However, since tapping out to Kurt Angle, Lesnar has questioned how much of a monster he really is. Enter master-motivator Vince McMahon.
In his own deviant way, Mr. McMahon convinced Brock that he still was the monster that ran over SmackDown! Superstars at will. By show's end, Lesnar once again proved it. He first interfered in the WWE Championship match, laying out both Kurt Angle and the Undertaker. He then did the most disgusting act of all. He kidnapped Zach Gowen, gagged his mouth and absolutely tortured the poor youngster. Zach's only leg was still in a cast from the beating it received at the hands of Brock several weeks ago. The cast, however, did not stop Lesnar from decimating the leg. Lesnar then tossed Gowen's wheelchair -- with Gowen still in it -- down a 25-foot staircase. Clearly, Vince has unlocked the monster inside Brock Lesnar.
Prior to the beating, Vince McMahon said that Brock Lesnar would receive a shot at the WWE Championship in two weeks on SmackDown! The match won't be a traditional wrestling match, though. The match will pit Kurt Angle against Brock Lesnar in a WWE Ironman Match. The WWE Superstar with the most decisions in a 60-minute time period will be declared the victor. If this match is anything like the legendary WWE Ironman Match from WrestleMania XII, then fans are in for an amazing match.
Elsewhere on SmackDown!, John Cena threatened to "jack" Eddie
Guerrero's "ride," and then did just that. The theft enraged
Guerrero so much that he demanded a match with Cena for next
week. Stephanie McMahon granted Guerrero his wish. Next week on
SmackDown!, Eddie Guerrero will face John Cena in a Parking Lot
Brawl.

Coming off of last week's atrocious attack on Zach Gowen, General Manager Stephanie McMahon set out to place blame on somebody. Rather than turning directly to Brock Lesnar, the animal that physically delivered all the pain, Stephanie blamed her father Vince.
Vince was quick to jump to the defensive, disagreeing with his daughter's claims. From there, Stephanie went on to berate Brock, saying that he was a criminal and belonged in jail. The comments failed to faze either Mr. McMahon or Lesnar. Rather, Brock shrugged the comments and asked Stephanie for a match later that night against Kurt Angle, the Undertaker and Zach Gowen. Unfortunately, none of the three SmackDown! Superstars he mentioned were at the show, due to injuries they suffered at the hands of Brock the week earlier.
With nobody to go up against, Brock turned his attention towards Stephanie. Seeing as he had already run through everybody else on SmackDown!, Brock thought he should take on the SmackDown! General Manager Stephanie McMahon. A frightened Stephanie almost immediately said no, but Vince stepped in and told his daughter that if she refused to fight Brock, she would have to quit as General Manager of SmackDown!
At the time of the night's main event, Brock Lesnar stood in the ring waiting for his opponent. Nobody actually thought Stephanie would answer Lesnar's challenge. But her music soon hit, and the General Manager came walking out in her wrestling gear. The only offense Stephanie was able to mount was a kick below the belt to Brock. Not long after the kick, Brock recovered and almost destroyed Stephanie completely. Luckily for Stephanie, Kurt Angle -- the man that was not supposed to be at SmackDown! -- ran in and made the save for Stephanie.
Also on SmackDown!, Eddie Guerrero defeated John Cena in one
of the most unique matches in SmackDown! history, a Latino Heat

Brock Lesnar & Stephanie McMahon competed to a no contest
Fans were treated to one of the most breathtaking matches in recent history this week on SmackDown! when Kurt Angle defended his WWE Championship against Brock Lesnar in a 60-minute WWE Ironman Match. While amazing to watch, however, what was meant to be a match to determine the better athlete between the two WWE Superstars turned into Brock Lesnar cheating his way to victory.
Right off the bat, Lesnar clocked Angle several times with a steel chair. The move cost the challenger a fall, but it was all part of Brock's plan to weaken the WWE Champion. Soon after, Brock was able to gain two quick falls on the fallen Angle. Throughout the entire hour, antics like this were the norm from Brock Lesnar. Like a true champion, however, Kurt Angle fought his way through the horrible disadvantages that were put in his way. In the end, it was Brock walking away with the WWE Championship, but it wasn't because of a lack of athleticism on Kurt Angle's part. Rather, it was because of a pre-meditated plan by the animal Brock Lesnar to cheat in order to win.

A DATE WITH THE DEADMAN
Sept. 25, 2003
Last week on SmackDown!, Brock Lesnar cheated his way to a victory of Kurt Angle in the 60-minute WWE Ironman Match. The victory over Angle made the young Lesnar a three-time WWE Champion. This week, Vince McMahon, with the lovely Sable by his side, arranged for a very championship presentation for new title holder.
Serving as MC for the event, Mr. McMahon introduced Lesnar, calling him the "new face of WWE." When Lesnar came out and accepted his new belt. He not only said that he was the new face, but that he was unstoppable, as well. This comment hit a nerve with one SmackDown! Superstar in particular. That man is the Undertaker.
Undertaker crashed the championship presentation to tell Brock that he was going to prove that he was unstoppable because he has a date with the Deadman at No Mercy for the WWE Championship. This announcement infuriated the Champion. However, it confused Mr. McMahon. Vince wanted to know how the Undertaker could just come out and name his own pay-per-view matches. It was at that moment that Stephanie McMahon's music hit. The General Manager told Vince that the match was made on her authority.
This was unacceptable for Vince. he demanded that Stephanie retract the No Mercy match. When she didn't, Vince announced that there would be an I Quit Match at No Mercy between Stephanie and himself.
For the first time ever in SmackDown! history, one man defended two titles on one night. That man was Eddie Guerrero. He was successful in both matches, beating Matt Hardy and Shannon Moore to retain the WWE Tag Team Championship, then beating Charlie Haas to hold on to the United States Championship. The wins did not come at a cost, however. The two matches took their toll on Latino Heat, leaving many wondering how much longer Eddie can defend two titles.
In other SmackDown! action, John Cena Pearl Harbored Kurt
Angle backstage. Before the Olympic hero could retaliate, Cena
hightailed it out of the arena. Angle jumped in Mr. McMahon's
limo and chased Cena.

The event may be two weeks away, but SmackDown! was very much "No Mercy” for the Undertaker. He got his hands on WWE Champion Brock Lesnar and displayed absolutely no mercy for the champ, chokeslamming him through the announce table to end SmackDown! and set up what should be a slugfest between the two at No Mercy on Oct. 19.
Moments after Lesnar and John Cena defeated ‘Taker and Kurt Angle in a match where Big Evil appeared to be in the best physical condition of his storied career, Lesnar grabbed the Undertaker and attempted to give him the F-5 on to the announce table. ‘Taker then reversed the move Lesnar a taste of his own medicine. SmackDown! ended with the Undertaker staring down the WWE Champ, who was knocked out on top of the ruins of the table. Lesnar was down momentarily, but you can be sure he’ll be more than ready to defend his WWE Championship in two weeks!
Also on SmackDown!, it was learned that Eddie Guerrero has street smarts to go with the in-ring skill that allows him to hold two championships. After an earlier spat between Guerrero and the Big Show, Show tried to sabotage Eddie’s dinner by stealing his burritos, save one that the Big Show loaded with his “special sauce” (a wad of Big Show spit). The joke turned out to be on the Big Show when it turned out the whole incident was planned by Eddie and Show’s burritos were loaded with a laxative fit for a giant. Eddie’s version of “special sauce” kicked in during Show’s match with Orlando Jordan, causing him to run to the locker room and get counted out. Later Show was seen in the bathroom, only to find that Eddie had stolen all of the toilet paper. Needless to say, the Big Show will be mighty upset the next time he sees Eddie at the arena!
If you’re looking for a match with emotion, do not miss the first-ever father/daughter I Quit Match at No Mercy. Last night, Mr. McMahon gave SmackDown! Co-GM Stephanie McMahon an opportunity to back out of their upcoming match and bow out of her position. When Stephanie refused, Mr. McMahon bodyslammed his own daughter! The Undertaker came to the ring to protect Stephanie, but the slam clearly hurt the young McMahon in more ways than one.

IT HITS THE FAN
Oct. 9, 2003
With only 10 days remaining until No Mercy, it hit the fan on SmackDown!, literally— in particular for one WWE Superstar.
The Big Show thought his night was over and had showered and dressed for a night on the town after handily defeating Orlando Jordan and gaining a measure of revenge on Eddie Guerrero for last week’s burrito incident. Little did he know that he would be called out for a second “match” by Chavo Guerrero. The match was actually a ploy to get Show out from the back and when Show entered the ring, Chavo escaped to be counted out, but joined by Eddie. The elder Guerrero rode to the ring in a septic truck driven by his Cousin, Chewy.
Eddie made it clear that he employed Chewy’s services for one reason—to spray the contents of his truck on to the Big Show. And spray he did. SmackDown! ended with Show soiled all over by Guerrero…and he did not look happy. Their match for the U.S. Title at No Mercy promises to be an event in itself.
Also on SmackDown!, the stakes for the first-ever Father/Daughter I Quit Match at No Mercy were raised even higher as Mr. McMahon announced that it is no longer an “I Quit” match exclusively for daughter Stephanie. Next Sunday, if Stephanie is victorious, Mr. McMahon will resign his position as Chairman of the Board of World Wrestling Entertainment. In other words, after No Mercy, one member of the McMahon family will be out of a job. It was also announced that each McMahon will have somebody in their corner, as Sable will join Mr. McMahon, while WWE CEO Linda McMahon will be in her daughter’s corner.
Speaking of No Mercy, the bout between Undertaker and Brock Lesnar will not just be for the WWE Championship, but it will also be a Biker Chain Match, thanks to a decision by Stephanie McMahon. ‘Taker used his “best friend” to help fend off an attack by the F.B.I. and Lesnar during his win over Chuck Palumbo. He proved to be lethal with the chain and if he gets his hands on it next Sunday, Lesnar’s run with the WWE Championship could be a short one.
SmackDown! fans were also treated to a Battle Rap between Kurt Angle and John Cena in anticipation of their clash at No Mercy. After cutting a solid, albeit sometimes vulgar, rap, Cena was upstaged a bit by an Angle rap that featured a personal attack against Cena that concluded with Angle proclaiming he came to fight. And fight they did. These two are itching to get their hands on each other next Sunday!
Only one SmackDown! remains before No Mercy! What will be the
last second developments before the next exciting WWE
pay-per-view? Only one way to find out…tune in next week for

VINCE DECLARES NO CHANCE IN HELL
Oct. 16, 2003
Emotions were running high in Cincinnati as the final SmackDown! before No Mercy revealed that Sunday’s pay-per-view could become explosive from the very start.
In what could be her final night as SmackDown! GM, Stephanie McMahon was barred from the arena by Mr. McMahon, but gave a stirring pre-recorded interview in which she revealed that she still loves her father but “does not like him,” and that if this I Quit Match indeed goes through, she will never have a relationship with her father again. Stephanie became hysterical during the interview when discussing her relationship with her father and her condition could not have been helped by Mr. McMahon who responded to what he called “an Academy Award Performance,” by saying that Stephanie was “lying through her teeth” when she expressed love for her father. Mr. McMahon said that Stephanie had as much of a chance at winning the match at No Mercy as one has for winning the lottery and ended the segment with strong words for his daughter, “May God have mercy on your soul, because I won’t!”
Speaking of emotions, the Big Show finally had his opportunity to express anger at Eddie Guerrero on SmackDown!, after two weeks of Guerrero’s antics that included spiked burritos and a septic truck soaking at the hands of the U.S. Champion. After Guerrero lied, cheated, and stole a victory from Rhyno, Show attacked Guerrero as he tried to enter his low-rider. The result was heavy damage to both Guerrero and the truck when Show dented the truck with a sledgehammer and then powerbombed and chokeslammed Guerrero on the truck.
SmackDown! also revealed the parameters behind Sunday’s Biker Chain Match between the Undertaker and Brock Lesnar. During an interview, Taker revealed that there will be one chain suspended above the ring and whomever happens to get hold of the chain will have the opportunity to use it as he sees fit. After declaring that “the chain is not dangerous, but the person swinging the chain is dangerous,” both Taker and Lesnar got to prove it when an ambush by Lesnar brought the two to the ring. Both unleashed incredible punishment on each other with Taker ultimately chokeslamming Lesnar. The Undertaker claims to be more ready to be the WWE Champion now than ever before, and proved just that on SmackDown!
Just 72 hours before an event that could change the course of SmackDown! for a long time to come, an emotional SmackDown! made No Mercy a must see pay-per-view event this Sunday.

Chris Benoit defeated Doug Basham

Paul Heyman takes over as General Manager
Oct. 23, 2003
After defeating Stephanie McMahon at No Mercy and forcing her to relinquish her role as General Manager, Mr. McMahon named Paul Heyman the new SmackDown! GM. Mr. McMahon thought he had laughed all of his troubles away … now, they have only just begun.
Thanks to a relentless effort by the Undertaker where he not only overcame the challenge of a Handicap Match with Brock Lesnar and the Big Show; but also three separate instances where he was declared the winner – only to have the decision nullified by a new Heyman stipulation – the Undertaker earned the right to face Mr. McMahon in a Buried Alive Match at Survivor Series on Sunday, Nov. 16.
SmackDown! may also have seen the beginning of a new rivalry as Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit were supposed to face John Cena and A-Train, but ended up brawling with each other after Benoit hit Angle with a chair by accident.
And Paul Heyman was not the only surprise return to SmackDown! Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty were welcomed back to SmackDown! with a win over the Self-Proclaimed World’s Greatest Tag Team.
Match results:
Kurt Angle & Chris Benoit battled John Cena & A-Train to a
no contest
Rikishi & Scotty 2 Hotty defeated the Self-Proclaimed World`s Greatest Tag Team
Basham Brothers defeated Los Guerreros to win the WWE Tag Team Championship
Tajiri defeated Zach Gowen
Undertaker defeated Big Show & Brock Lesnar in a Handicap Match
Even though it seemed that Paul Heyman’s tenure as SmackDown! General Manager would be a brief one, his position now appears to be stronger than ever. A week after his plan to stop the Undertaker backfired and resulted in a Buried Alive Match at Survivor Series between Undertaker and Mr. McMahon, Heyman informed Mr. McMahon on SmackDown! that his plan to knock Undertaker out of Survivor Series would falter. Not only did Heyman give Undertaker the night off from SmackDown!, but he would have every SmackDown! off until the Nov. 16 pay-per-view event.
With his back sternly against the wall after being threatened by Mr. McMahon with both termination as SmackDown! GM and death, Heyman came out swinging … and boy did he connect! After a pep talk to Mr. McMahon that seemed to stay his execution, Heyman announced the formation of Team Lesnar, which is scheduled to take on Team Angle in a Classic Survivor Series Elimination Match at Survivor Series on Nov. 16. Team Lesnar may very well be the most impressive team in Survivor Series history, as it features the WWE Champion, the U.S. Champion Big Show, Nathan Jones and Matt Morgan – the first draft pick for Heyman, who claimed to have outscooped his RAW counterparts. With a fifth partner still to be named, the foursome average nearly seven feet in height and combine for more than 1400 pounds!
Team Angle also got off to a good start as Kurt Angle drafted Chris Benoit, the APA, and Hardcore Holly for his Survivor Series squad, but after the APA, Angle, and Benoit were decimated by the members of Team Lesnar at the end of SmackDown!, it is clear that they will have to go back to the drawing board, as Survivor Series approaches. At the end of the night, Faarooq appeared to be injured and his status for Survivor Series is a question mark at this point.
In action on SmackDown!, Ultimo Dragon scored a win over Rey Mysterio, thanks to Tajiri, who knocked Mysterio out while the referee’s back was turned. After the match, Tajiri and his “friends” approached Ultimo Dragon seemingly with the intention to befriend him, but the Dragon wanted no part of Tajiri and his cohorts.
The Paul Heyman era on SmackDown! has produced one surprising turn after another … and it has only been in existence for two weeks! What will happen next? Who will complete Team Lesnar? Will Faarooq be able to compete for Team Angle? Will Mr. McMahon really have to face the Undertaker in a Buried Alive Match at Survivor Series?
Match results:
Chris Benoit & Kurt Angle defeated John Cena and A-Train
Ultimo Dragon defeated Rey Mysterio
Torrie Wilson won the Trick or Treat Costume Contest
APA defeated Brock Lesnar and the Big Show by
disqualification.
All Aboard!
Nov. 6, 2003
With only 10 days to go until Survivor Series, it was announced that Faarooq would be lost for Survivor Series, thanks to an attack by Team Lesnar last week. If that was not bad enough for Team Angle, within minutes after SmackDown! began, it was also revealed that John Cena would be offered the final spot on Team Lesnar and, on top of that, Team Angle would be forced to survive a Handicap Match between Kurt Angle & Chris Benoit against four members of Team Lesnar.
When it seemed like things could not get any worse for Team Angle, the one glimmer of hope that arose was Cena himself. Cena shocked the SmackDown! audience and rejected the offer from Paul Heyman to join Team Lesnar. After his act of defiance, Cena received a vicious beating at the hands of Team Lesnar and A-Train, who would later become the final member of Team Lesnar. However, by evening’s end, Cena was out for revenge, attacking members of Team Lesnar. Despite his efforts, however, Cena and Team Angle ended up laid out in the ring at the conclusion of SmackDown!
Despite Eddie Guerrero's recent struggles, he proved why he is known as one of the toughest veterans in WWE when he stunned the Basham Brothers with a win in their Handicap Match. Guerrero’s win was huge considering that Chavo was banned from ringside by SmackDown! GM Paul Heyman, but Guerrero was able to score the win. As a result, Los Guerreros will face the Basham Brothers for the WWE Tag Team Championship next week on SmackDown!
SmackDown! will air for the final time before Survivor Series next Thursday. Will Los Guerreros regain the WWE Tag Team Championship?
Match results:
John Cena defeated Rey Mysterio
Big Show defeated Bradshaw
Eddie Guerrero defeated the Basham Brothers in a Handicap Match
Jamie Noble & Ultimo Dragon defeated Tajiri & Nunzio
Kurt Angle & Chris Benoit defeated Brock Lesnar, A-Train,
Matt Morgan & Nathan Jones via disqualification in a Handicap
Match
With just 72 hours before Survivor Series, Mr. McMahon began to show his fear heading into his Buried Alive Match with the Undertaker. While backstage with Sable, McMahon admitted that he was experiencing nightmares, which included maggots eating away at his buried body. A concerned Sable left McMahon by himself for a while. When she came back, she wasn’t alone. Sable had brought Father Frank in to see Mr. McMahon. Upon seeing Father Frank, Mr. McMahon’s demeanor went from frightened to cocky. While the priest was praying, Mr. McMahon continually interrupted him. McMahon even went so far as to bring the priest to his knees, lay his hands on the priest’s forehead and recite a scripture of his own, which proclaimed that all prayers should be for the Undertaker.
Elsewhere on SmackDown!, fans curiosity concerning Team Angle’s fifth member was finally put to rest. Angle picked John Cena to complete his team, despite Chris Benoit’s disapproval. Although Benoit was not happy Cena was added to the team of five, he did team up with Cena for a tag team match on SmackDown! The duo battled Big Show and Brock Lesnar. In the end, it was Cena and Benoit picking up the victory, and the momentum heading into Survivor Series this Sunday on pay-per-view.
Last week on SmackDown, Eddie Guerrero defeated both Basham Brothers. The victory meant that Eddie and his nephew Chavo Guerrero would challenge the Bashams this week for the WWE Tag Team Championship. The match, however, never took place. Prior to the match, Eddie received word from an officer that a member of his wife’s family had been injured in an accident. A worried Eddie quickly grabbed his bags and fled the arena, leaving Chavo byhimself.
Upset about losing his shot at the WWE Tag Team Championship, Chavo headed to General Manager Paul Heyman. Understanding the importance of family, Heyman told Chavo that he would still have his shot at the gold. This time, it would be at Survivor Series. His match this week, however, was not cancelled. Chavo still had to face the Basham Brothers by himself. A match he ended up losing.
Match results:
Kurt Angle defeated Nathan Jones by disqualification
Akio & Sakoda of Kyo Dai defeated Rey Mysterio and Jamie Noble
Basham Brothers defeated Chavo Guerrero
Bradshaw defeated A-Train
Chris Benoit & John Cena defeated Big Show & Brock Lesnar
Just when it seemed like Mr. McMahon could finally be the WWE Chairman in peace, his biggest nemesis to date may have just arrived. On SmackDown!, Mr. McMahon was still feeling the effects of his Survivor Series encounter with the Undertaker. Despite gashes and bruises all over his face, a concussion, and a shattered ankle, Mr. McMahon claimed the ultimate victory as a result of his win at Survivor Series and claimed to be unstoppable, invincible, and untouchable.
But just as fast as Mr. McMahon’s victory party was to begin, it came to a screeching halt when John Cena emerged from backstage. Fresh off Survivor Series, where Cena scored the pinfall to win the match for Team Angle, not only did Cena blast both Mr. McMahon and Sable in his latest rap, but later Cena would pin the Big Show 1-2-3 to bring the Houston crowd to its feet. By the end of SmackDown!, it was clear that defeating the Undertaker did not solve Mr. McMahon’s problems … in fact, his troubles may have just begun in the form of Cena – who could be the hottest young Superstar on the SmackDown! roster.
Also on SmackDown!, at the request of Mr. McMahon, a RAW Superstar made a one-time-only appearance as Kane entered the arena to give a eulogy to his brother, the Undertaker – who Kane helped bury alive at Survivor Series. In a stirring speech, Kane made a shocking remark that in fact the Undertaker had been dead long before the Survivor Series match ever took place! Kane said his brother had “betrayed himself” by showing compassion in helping Stephanie McMahon in her plight against Mr. McMahon, and weakness by losing to Brock Lesnar at No Mercy. Kane called the Undertaker a “fraud” and that he buried an imposter alive at Survivor Series.
But all eyes during SmackDown! were on Cena, who not only ruined the night for Mr. McMahon, but for Brock Lesnar as well. Lesnar entered SmackDown! determined to gain a measure of revenge on the members of Team Angle, sending A-Train to face Bradshaw and Nathan Jones to meet Chris Benoit. Lesnar’s efforts would prove to be fruitless as Benoit’s victory over Jones, combined with Cena’s heroics, made it a tough night for those on Lesnar’s side. Heading into next week, expect Lesnar, McMahon, and company to be even angrier!
What will Mr. McMahon and Brock Lesnar have in store for next week? Will John Cena’s recent hot streak continue?
Match results:
Rey Mysterio defeated Akio
Matt Morgan defeated Shannon Moore
A-Train defeated Bradshaw

In an attempt to be Superstar-friendly, General Manager Paul Heyman gave many SmackDown! Superstars a great opportunity. He held a 20-man battle royal, with the winner of the match going on to face Brock Lesnar next week on SmackDown! Heyman then went on to proclaim that the next two hours were going to be the greatest Thanksgiving spectacular in the history of broadcast television. He did not disappoint.
Prior to the battle royal, two SmackDown! Superstars were forced to compete in qualifying matches. Those men were John Cena and Chris Benoit. Cena was forced to face A-Train, while Benoit took on the mighty Matt Morgan. Both men were successful in their matches and moved on to the battle royal.
Ironically, the two men that had to fight just to be in the battle royal were the final two men in the battle royal. Typically in battle royals, there is a clear cut winner. That was not the case here, as both men seemingly landed on the arena floor at the same time. It was clearly too close to call. Therefore, GM Heyman declared that John Cena and Chris Benoit would face each other next week on SmackDown! to determine who would face Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship.
Also on SmackDown!, Hardcore Holly was interviewed in his home via satellite by Michael Cole. The suspended Holly promised that when his suspension gets lifted, he was going to break Lesnar's neck.
As promised, Ernest "The Cat" Miller entertained the Idaho fans on SmackDown! He did not do so, however, by himself. He had the lovely Torrie Wilson entertaining along with him.

The longer he holds the WWE Championship, the more brash Brock Lesnar is becoming … but as long as he continues to back every word with action in the ring, there might not be anybody out there who can dispute his claims. On SmackDown!, Lesnar opened the show with perhaps the boldest claim of his career. After declaring himself the greatest WWE Champion, ever, Lesnar backed up every word by retaining the Championship with a victory over Chris Benoit … but it certainly was not an easy win!
Shortly after Benoit topped John Cena to earn the shot at Lesnar, the two engaged in one of the most memorable matches of the year as both Superstars were seconds away from victory at several points during the match. Benoit actually caused Lesnar to tap out at one point after applying the Crippler Crossface, but the referee was knocked out and the tap was not recorded. Shortly thereafter, Lesnar was victorious. However, what Lesnar did not do was make Benoit tap out as he had earlier promised. After a vicious chair shot to Benoit’s knee, Lesnar engaged a leg lock that had Benoit writhing in pain. But Benoit did not submit … instead, the pain was so great that Benoit ultimately lost consciousness, causing the referee to rule the match in favor of Lesnar, a la Bret Hart vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin from WrestleMania 13.
Lesnar’s reign as WWE Champion continued after a night of controversy. Not only was Lesnar’s victory controversial because of his tap out and the chair shot to set up his victory, but during the match between Cena and Benoit, Cena was originally awarded the victory after hitting Benoit with the FU. However, referee Nick Patrick did not see that Benoit had placed his foot on the ropes during the three count, and when Brian Hebner entered the ring to inform Patrick of what happened, Patrick ruled that the match should continue. Benoit later earned the win with the Crippler Crossface.
In other action on SmackDown!, General Manager Paul Heyman’s conquest of Shannon Moore continued. Despite claiming that he does not hold Moore accountable for Matt Hardy’s defection to RAW, for the third straight week, and already banged up Moore was forced to face one of the largest men on SmackDown!, in this case the largest man in sports entertainment – the Big Show. And, for the third straight week, Moore was defeated handily. However, Heyman continues to credit Moore for taking such savage beatings and “coming back for more, more, more,” and it seems as if Moore’s opportunities against the big men of SmackDown! will continue.
SmackDown! also saw a breakthrough for the tag team of Scotty 2 Hotty and Rikishi as the duo was victorious over WWE Tag Team Champions the Basham Brothers in a non-title match. The win instantly puts Rikishi and Scotty near the top of the SmackDown! tag team division and a shot at the Championship seems within their reach. Brock Lesnar left SmackDown! WWE Champion, but he also faced one of the stiffest challenges in his career. How will Lesnar react? Will Chris Benoit be out for revenge? How will John Cena react to the events of SmackDown!

BROCK WINS THE BATTLE, HOLLY WINS THE WAR?
Dec. 11, 2003
One week after surviving perhaps the challenge of his career from Chris Benoit, Brock Lesnar began SmackDown! alongside General Manager Paul Heyman, where it was revealed that Benoit will never get another shot at the WWE Championship, as long as Heyman is General Manager. Heyman explained that his long-term plans for SmackDown! are to build the show on Lesnar’s back, a la Vince McMahon, Sr. building WWE on the back of Bruno Sammartino and Mr. McMahon building WWE on the backs of Hulk Hogan and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Benoit, Heyman explained, came too close to ruining that plan, and therefore he will never get another shot at the WWE Championship.
The elimination of Benoit as a contender did not eliminate all viable contenders for the Championship, as Lesnar later learned. After several derogatory remarks about San Diego, Rey Mysterio – a San Diego native – entered the ring and challenged Lesnar to a match despite an incredible size disparity between the two. In the final match of SmackDown!, Mysterio faced Lesnar in a non-title match, with the stipulation being that a Mysterio win would lead to a rematch for the WWE Championship next week. For the second straight week, Lesnar was pushed to the limit, only to force Mysterio to tap out via the Brock Lock.
However, Lesnar’s evening did not end there. While Lesnar began to celebrate his victory, one of Mysterio’s mask-clad “relatives” attempted to enter the ring to defend Mysterio. That relative turned out to be none other than Hardcore Holly who, despite his indefinite suspension, is still determined to break Lesnar’s neck as he promised. An attack from Holly sent Lesnar reeling and proved that despite his current standing, there are many out there waiting in line to take a shot at the WWE Champion.
Also on SmackDown!, Shannon Moore finally passed one of Paul Heyman’s tests and, in the process, may have caused some dissention from within the ranks of Team Lesnar. After being scolded by Heyman for his bet against Lesnar last week, Heyman gave A-Train a shot at redemption with a match against Moore – a match for which Matt Morgan placed a substantial bet on A-Train. After a shocking win by Moore, both Morgan and the Big Show attacked A-Train and left him lying in the ring.
Speaking of Big Show, while the big man had the night off
from in-ring action, he certainly enjoyed his fair share of
activity, including a Battle Rap with John Cena. While the Big
Show held his own considering it was his first rap, judging by
the crowd’s reaction, Cena appeared to win. And if Cena did not
win the rap, he most certainly won the battle as he hit the Big
Show with a low blow at the conclusion of the contest that left
Show on his knees in the ring.
SmackDown! also featured a tag team slugfest between Los Guerreros and
The Self-Proclaimed World’s Greatest Tag Team. Los Guerreros
stole the win, literally, but their strife appeared to continue
as the match featured several arguments between the two. However,
the win puts Los Guerreros in a better position to challenge
for the WWE Tag Team Championship – a Championship that
may not belong to the Basham Brothers much longer as they
announced that they will defend the WWE Tag Team Championship
against Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty next week on SmackDown!
How will Brock Lesnar react to Hardcore Holly – the one challenger that Paul Heyman can not control? Are Shannon Moore’s test over now that he scored an upset win? Does the Big Show have revenge in mind for John Cena? Who will be the World Tag Team Champions? Answers to all of these questions and more can only be answered one way … by watching SmackDown! next week at 8/7 CT on UPN!

JACKPOT FOR HARDCORE HOLLY
Dec. 18, 2003
Christmas came a week early for Hardcore Holly on SmackDown! Just hours after the WWE Board of Directors ruled that Holly must be reinstated, Paul Heyman entered SmackDown! with a plan that was supposed to make Holly’s return a very brief one. In an all or nothing match, Matt Morgan & A-Train would face Hardcore Holly & Shannon Moore to determine Holly’s final fate. A win by Holly & Moore would give Holly a shot at the WWE Championship on a future date, however, a win by Morgan & A-Train would mean the immediate termination of Holly’s contract.
If having an undersized partner did not present enough of a challenge for Holly, Heyman stacked the deck against him even further when he announced that Brock Lesnar would defend the WWE Championship against any SmackDown! Superstar – and he had a tumbler full of the SmackDown! Superstars to choose from. Moments before Lesnar’s Title defense, he chose his challenger … and it turned out to be Shannon Moore! After crushing Moore during their match, Lesnar revealed that it was not a coincidence that Moore’s name was chosen as every ball in the tumbler bore the name, Shannon Moore.
Decimated by Lesnar, Moore was forced to begin the match against Morgan & A-Train, but the resiliency he has displayed during recent weeks continued, and he survived the initial assault to tag in Holly. Hardcore Holly seized his opportunity and stunned Team Lesnar with the victory, ensuring that his career in WWE would continue and he would get his shot at the WWE Championship. Before the match, Holly vowed he would win the match and continue on to take the WWE Championship and break Lesnar’s neck. With step one behind him, when will Holly get his shot to keep his promise? Stay tuned to find out!
Also on SmackDown!, the scheduled WWE Tag Team Championship Match between the Basham Brothers and Rikishi & Scotty 2 Hotty was changed to a Fatal Four-way that included Los Guerreros and the Self-Proclaimed World’s Greatest Tag Team. Although at one point each team seemed poised for victory, the Basham Brothers head into Christmas still the WWE Tag Team Champions.
Speaking of championships, Rey Mysterio earned another shot at the Cruiserweight Championship and Tajiri with a win over Jamie Noble in a No. 1 Contender’s Match that featured both high-flying Superstars in top form. Noble once again tried to use Nidia’s blindness to his advantage, but it backfired, and now Mysterio will soon have his shot to regain the Cruiserweight Championship.
It was also announced on SmackDown! that next week’s special edition from Iraq will feature John Cena facing the Big Show! These two have been jawing at each other for weeks, including last week’s battle rap. Not only do they get to finally square off next week, but they have the honor of doing it in front of America’s soldiers in Iraq! Will it take an Army to keep these two from destroying each other? Who else will compete on SmackDown! from Iraq? Only one way to find out … spend Christmas with the troops of the United States and World Wrestling Entertainment as SmackDown! comes to you from Iraq next week.

A MERRY CHRISTMAS FOR AMERICA'S HEROES

They stand on the frontlines and risk their lives on a daily basis to preserve the safety and freedom of the American people. They are the real heroes, who have not been home in many months, and spent Christmas away from their loved ones. They are the Armed Forces of the United States, and on a special Christmas SmackDown! from Baghdad, there were four matches. But by evening’s end, it was clear that there was only one winner … the very men and women who risk so much to keep us free.
More than 5,000 servicemen and women packed Baghdad’s Camp Victory for the action and excitement of SmackDown! … a special event in the middle of an active war zone. As Mr. McMahon proclaimed during a speech to open the event, the troops were treated to a “slice of Americana” as a special thank you for their heroic efforts. SmackDown! featured not only the action and excitement that is World Wrestling Entertainment, but it even featured a visit from Santa Claus and his "little helpers" who paid their visit to the troops for Christmas.
But in a truly stunning turn of events, Santa turned out to
be perhaps the biggest gift of all to those in attendance. After
being attacked by Mr. McMahon for not having a gift for the
WWE Chairman, Santa revealed himself to be none other than
Stone Cold Steve Austin, who made a surprise return to WWE for
the first time since Survivor Series. And if the site of the
Rattlesnake was not enough to send the troops into a frenzy,
Austin’s stunner to Mr. McMahon surely was! Austin may have
been away since Survivor Series, but his Stunner has not lost
its touch, as both John Cena and the Big Show would later find out!
In action on SmackDown!, John Cena
and the United States Champion, the Big Show, have been jawing
at each other for weeks and they finally had a match to help
settle their differences, albeit a non-title affair. Despite being dwarfed by the
enormous Big Show, Cena escaped an attempted Choke Slam, and hit
the FU to score the pinfall victory. After the match, Stone Cold
Steve Austin entered the ring to have a discussion with Cena, a
conversation that turned into a Stunner for both Cena and Big
Show!
In other action, Eddie Guerrero – despite the absence of a low-rider – and Chris Benoit, who have both engaged in their fair share of classic matches as of late, had the chance to do the same against each other … and they did not disappoint! Guerrero promised he would lie, cheat, or steal to gain the win, and he did just that when he used the ropes for leverage to gain the pinfall victory. After the match, Guerrero reentered the ring dressed in a flack jacket and helmet to try to fend off the angry Benoit, but the Christmas spirit was in the air and instead of trading punches, the two shared a Christmas hug to celebrate a job well done.
And if the site of Stone Cold Steve Austin and the SmackDown! were not enough to keep the troops completely entertained, the Santa’s Little Helper Contest surely was. In an event that featured two former Playboy Covergirls, Torrie Wilson was declared the winner over Sable and Dawn Marie when her Little Helper costume was removed to reveal a special holiday bikini!
SmackDown! from Baghdad brought out the best from the SmackDown! Superstars who were so eager to share in the holiday spirit, but when they return next week to the United States, chances are that many will not be in a giving mood. Fresh off his victory over the United States Champion, will John Cena seek the opportunity at his first Championship? Will Hardcore Holly continue his crusade to gain the WWE Championship and revenge on Brock Lesnar?
Match results:
APA defeated the Self-Proclaimed World’s Greatest Tag Team
Rikishi defeated Rhyno
Eddie Guerrero defeated Chris Benoit
Torrie Wilson won the Santa’s Little Helper Contest over Sable
and Dawn Marie John Cena defeated the Big Show in a non-title
match
